i rooted my aria last year and can install anything i want right on the phone by downloading .apks or using dropbox.

i rooted the wife's tonight with unrevoked3. it went through all the steps and said completed.... and SU permissions is installed but can't install 3rd party apps??? it just has the usual non-market app error message.

what am i missing? i'm probably just forgetting something else i did to mine last yr.

You need to flash a ROM that supports sideloading apps. Liberated Aria and CyanogenMod are two choices

or if you have the older version of HTCsync you can manually install apps
