Help needed on rooting

I have a HTC Aria which is updated to 2.2 FroYo through OTA (in HK).
After using for a few months, I have finally decided to root it.
I googled about it for a while, and found out that it is not possible to root it after 2.2 OTA upgrade.
So I downgraded it through RUU and it is now back to 2.1 Eclair.
But I still can't root it even if it is downgraded.
Is it because of the version of hboot? It is still 1.02.

p.s. Sorry for bad English I am from HK.

Yes, if your HBOOT is still at version 1.02, then there is currently no rootable exploit that has been discovered for this version. You may want to keep checking the Unrevoked twitter page for any updates or breakthroughs in that area. Most of the resent HTC phones that were released with 2.1 and have received the 2.2 OTA update have been affected, so this is not unique to the Aria.
