Default Is this possible

Is it possible to delete an app without deleting the widget.

Ex. I don't want the HTC clock app in my app list. For the widget dose the same thing if you tap on it and it shows when I am on my home screen.

Pretty sure you can't since an application's widget is part of the app itself.
