Voice Dialing???

Is there a voice dialing option with the Aria; if so, how do I set it up.

Which version of Android are you currently running? If it is Android 2.1 which shipped with the Aria, then there is a Voice Dialing application, but you must manually launch it from the phone; there is no provision to launch it via a Bluetooth headset. Furthermore, once you do launch it, it will not accept voice commands through the BT headset, you must speak into the phone's mic.

With Android 2.2, Google has added Bluetooth headset support to the Voice Dialer app, however, the Froyo 2.2 ROM that has been released for the European Gratia does not fully implement the BT headset integration. On the HTC Sense 2.2, you can now launch the Voice Dialer application by selecting the BT headset button, but you still must speak into the phone's mic; it still does not accept voice commands through the headset.

If you have a rooted phone, then you need to look at CM 6.1 for the Aria. This AOSP implementation of Android 2.2 fully supports the Voice Dialer app via a BT headset.

I'm running 2.1 and have to admit that I'm totally shocked that the voice dialing app doesn't work with BT. My old Motorla, which I had a couple phones ago had voice dialing through BT. How about an app from the market??

You can check out Vlingo, but I believe you manually have to launch it from the phone. I'm not sure if it compatible with BT on Android 2.1.

Just bought the newest Verizon Droid. How do i voice dial? How does it work with "Jawbone" Blue Tooth. Sorry if you've answered this before. It's my first time in this Forum. Thanks!
