Default partitioning sd card for installation of programs

i want to install programs on my sd card, so i am trying to partition my sd card. but i do not understand the options (this is in rom manager). there is ext. size and swap size. what do both of these mean? thanks.

i dont know about swap but ext is where ur apps would be stored... and i dont think so this partition will work for u if u r gonna use link2sd to it will show errors like the one shown on this thread http://androidforums.com/htc-aria/309363-get-error-link2sd.html this is because aria has its security on... it is not working for me... then also u go in an hboot mode and over there see whether you have s-on or off http://ossadmin.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/img_1352_macro_h300.jpg
