Default Proximity Sensor

I replaced my cracked screen only to find I was getting blacked out of everything during calls. Found out about the proximity sensor and a way, however bothersome, to work around that. I had to take my phone back apart to try to solve another problem and I confirmed that I did indeed lose the tiny black rubber cover from my proximity sensor. My question: is there any way to replace it and/or trick my phone into thinking it is still there? I have to make this phone last a couple more months at least and I really hate having to find a bright light to hold it up to or taking out the battery to end my calls. I just look silly.

Thanks!
