This is the issue I am having as well....stuck on huawei screen when i try to flash into recovery.
Is there another model I can use instead?
The recovery isnt merged into rom manager yet so it wont be in the list. It needs to be flash either the fastboot method or from terminal. But there is a lil trick that can be done to install it with RM. First you have to pick one from the list on RM, dl it, then in file manager go into the clockworkmod/download/download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries.
Then in that dir there should now be a recovery-clockwork-<version#>-model.img,
rename that img and add .bak to the end of it. Then take my recovery.img and rename it to what the img you dl'd thru RM is named. Then from RM you can install the img I built for the A2. The version # etc may not be displayed correctly but should install it for you and then you will have a working CWM
Its been awhile since I used this method, but it works.
NVM, I found out that you couldn't. Reason I asked is because I can not reboot into recovery, can not find a working version of Clockwork recovery for my phone, and can not get my phone to install correctly on my computer to install clockwork recovery that way. Having major issues here...
(EDIT)
Managed to fix all the problems (magically), installed the A2tude rom after, works great, thanks!!!

On the daily I Google "Huawei Ascend 2 Roms" and search with updates within the last week. Not many are dedicated to this device, but your doing an amazing job. I use this rom on the daily, haven't wanted/nor needed to go back to stock. I use ADW EX, 780 oc'd and its really smooth. I saw you did CM7 on this device but didn't look exactly stable yet....

Hopefully this isn't a dumb question. But is there a way to actually change the "other" settings? For instance. On the Ascend1 (M860) with CM 6 or 7 we were able to go into "dev or spare" parts to change the OC settings (on demand, smartass, etc.) Where do i find the settings in here? BTW! AMAZED the MT works great!! Thanks again for all the hard work!

Yes you can, but in CM6 you had to use an app like setcpu to set em, same case here with A2tude (or any other cpu app).
CM7 has cpu settings builtin in settings > CM settings > performance > cpu settings.
I have installed setcpu and downloaded A2tude, everything is great, Thank you very much btw. But I am unable to oc past 600 mhz, am I missing something??

Well PG, I'm sorry to bother you with this, but I am alittle confused. I am rooted, and running A2tude, I've downloaded setcpu and it has superuser permission, but the highest mhz is only 600 mhz. Any ideas on what I'm missing is greatly appreciated.

not right off hand, no clue, you're the only that has reported having that issue 8(
Will keep my eye out for others that may be experiencing it too tho.

Are you sure you are downloading v1.74?
Well, I downloaded from rom manager, I guess I'm really not sure what version, but I will double check in the mean time. If I can figure it out I will let you know also. Thank you
Kind of off topic, but since I've rooted my phone and installed your rom my sd card is not readable by windows vista. Have I encrypted it, or changed the file type accidentally? It says that I must format the drive before viewing it, and it also says unknown file type where I beleive its normally ntfs. I have no problem when plugging it to windows 7. Format to ntfs?
Hey PG, just wanted to let you know, I did not have the current version of A2tude. I do now and everything is great. Thank you very much for everything you do.

DO NOT format as NTFS, the sdcard should be fat, sd-ext should be ext2, ext3, or ext4.
I downloaded your ROM, but when I do the reboot it stays stuck on the white screen forever...even fell asleep waiting and it discharged my battery cuz stayed like that for hrs..never went past it...do you know how to fix that so I can load your rom?
I'm trying to delete apps file with root explorer, but when I long press the folder and press delete, it tells me, can not be deleted read file only. Any suggestions??

You can switch between 'mount R/O' and 'mount R/W'. That'll do the trick. I smacked my forehead when I figured that one out.

It seems like common sense...but obviously im missing something. Please help ?
yea that only works with the updates or restore to stock, not custom.
What you need is to install ROM Manager from the market and then flash CWM recovery from RM for the Ascend 2. Then you can install the A2tude ROM with RM or by rebooting into CWM and using the Install for SDcard option.

I have done this but I still cant get it to install correctly. I have read tons of these posts and cant find any help. I have tried one of the step by steps and nothing. I have to be doing something wrong but I have no idea what it is. I have CWM 4.0.1.5 flashed it first and then downloaded from rom manager phone is rooted used root checker. Would appreciate some direction. Thanks for all the hard work really enjoyed CM7 on ascend I and want to use your stuff on the ascend II... Thanks

I did these steps and I got the A2tude 1.74 on my phone and I am thinking that I had it on before but didn't realize it...lol. Now I tried to flash the 1.75 and I am getting the white screen every time. I tried the steps suggested previously and also tried it through rom manager from my sd card. I got the file from your wiki I believe, anyway if there is any more help you would like to give I would greatly appreciate it...thanks again :-)

PG, any chance of being updated for the 2.3.5 Muve update provided by Cricket? If you need a copy of it, I don't mind reflashing to stock and updating so I can send you a backup (would a backup from CWM do?).
I'm a Root/ROM virgin still. I have successfully rooted my phone and successfully flashed this ROM (forgive me if my lingo is not correct, just trying to sound like all my fellow Ascend 2 users on here).
I just want to thank you all for your knowledge, especially PlayfulGod for all his hard work! I couldn't have rooted or flashed anything without all of your knowledge and hard work! When I originally rooted, I lost the tethering and portable hotspot options in my settings, but after flashing A2tude, it's back! So I am excited about that! I didn't like having to use a third party app for wifi.
One thing, I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but when I play draw something (paid version) I keep getting a black screen off and on throughout playing. This went away with the original rooting and came back again after flashing A2tude. Maybe some kind of settings, I will keep playing with it and researching it and post any solutions I get, in case anyone else has this trouble. It went away for a bit after clearing dalvik cache and messing around with my cpu settings. Then just came back again. Like I said, I will keep messing around to find a solution, but if anyone else happens to have one, that would save me a lot of time. I am using super tuner for cpu settings, in case that has anything to do with anything.
Thank you again everyone! This is a great ROM so far, even though I have no idea what ROMs are really supposed to do. :-) All I know is that my phone still works and I can play with it more than I used to be able to. (Which is dangerous for me, cuz I have other things to do. lol)

data2sd?
Hi, PG
I'm running your A2tude ROM v1.74 on my M865. Been using it for a few months now and I love it. I have a question for you.
I just partitioned & formatted my SD card in an attempt to free up memory space on the internal phone memory and to have existing and newly-downloaded apps go to the SD card. However, everything that was in the phone's memory is still in the phone's memory; nothing was moved. I've also noticed that newly downloaded apps automatically go to the phone's memory (although they usually can be moved to the SD card via the Android Settings or Titanium Backup, etc.).
My question is, does the A2tude ROM have the "data2sd" feature (or whatever it's called) built in so that apps go to the SD? If not, then that would explain my situation. If it does have this feature (and I assume it does...?), then I have a different problem that I will have to further investigate.
