I still cant get anything going, I flashed my ascend and its starts to come up and do the basic training for the phone but it wont let me get past the location consent page of the set up, I have downloaded Metro PCS recovery and I never get the screen asking/showing which OS to use, I get the huawei screen forever when I do the "fastboot" using vol down, when I use vol up it comes with the 4 options to reboot system now, apply sdcard:update.zip, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition I have done ALL of these, I never even did anything after I rooted my phone all I did was delete a couple useless apps and the noticed my setting widget disappeared so I came here to look for help so far nothing has helped

download the metroPcs stock file and once download, unzip it to desktop, not power down your ascend and connect it to the pc. now press and hold VOL DOWN, END KEY, AND TAP POWER BUTTON, you should now see the white screen with Huawei logo on it. now move on to the pc and open the recovery file that you unzip and click metropcsstock-windows if your running windows, and a black box will appear and start it's coarse, after it finish, the phone will automatic reboot, and you will have a fresh out of the box Huawei Ascend!!!!

p.s. NEVER delete anything with google that will mess you up big time, also btw which carrier are you with, theres a list of what not to delete and whats safe to delete in the All Things Rooted Topic.

Your pc has to be setup to push files to it. You'll need to install the java SDK's and android tools n prayer you have the right drivers for you phone

well see if you have a card reader n have CWM installed already you dont need a pc to push files

just put the zip files on the root of your sdcard, boot in cwmr, do the 3 wipes, then install from zip (rom 1st, gapps 2nd, for cm6 & 7 anyhow), then goto advanced n fix permissions (optional).

Only thing you need a computer for with this method it to put files on your sdcard (if phone wont boot normally), and a card reader.

It's VERY hard to break this phone. Just read the directions a few times and follow them closely!

You need to press and hold Vol Down + Send and tap Power. This puts it in fastboot so that you can load CWM. Is this where you are having problems?

You use Fastboot to install CWM. Then you enter CWM to install the ROM.
Just to clarify

Well once i said that it completed And I rebooted. It worked just fine. I didnt have my drivers installed, thats why I wanted to go back stock because I know it contained the drivers I needed. Now im gonna flash back to either Icarus 1.1 (I miss that rom.lol) or cm7.

Default Stock Recovery for Cricket

Had to flash to stock this AM, and found that the recovery ROM is an updated version from what my phone came with originally. It has cleaned up some lag issues and has some 2.2 like features in the interface. I tired it rooted and bloat-frozen, and it runs OK. NOT in the same league as CM7, but for non-root users or those that like rooted stock, it might be an option.

Normal Update Method

Download the Following Package:
http://www.filedropper.com/m860v100r001c153b251sp03
d97ed410ffa518c689e2444d21007daa M860V100R001C153B251SP03.zip

1) Copy "dload" folder to SD card
2) Settings--SD card & Phone storage--Software Upgrade

I have the metro pcs ascend and when i press and hold the end button with the volume down button and power on it gets stuck on the huawei screen. I just started my account with this site but i have used it in the past for everything with my phone. Jazz you have helped me countless times but for some reason this time it isnt working. Is there another way i can try to go about this.

But when i start up the phone normally it usually makes it all the way to my home screen but the home screen is black and there is the status bar that is accessible. when i hold the power button that response shows up and it makes sounds like it normally does with the volume control.

What did you flash to? Metro stock recovery?

You may need to reprogram the phone for service.

Unfortunately I don't know how but I'm sure Lord Google can help.

Is there going to be a flash back to stock 2.2 instead of 2.1?

If you are back on METRO & still have no data service, just take it to a METRO dealer to reset,if hitting the 'FACTORY RESET' button isn't working for you. Also,on CRICKET,we dial *228 to get a refresh signal.Don't know what the METRO equivalent is.Also, make sure you're not in 'ROAMING' mode.

EDIT: The *228 function should work on both CRICKET & METRO PCS.
