Thats why I never directly link to the downloads. I link em to the wiki home page n make em read to find the links.
Everyone needs to take into consideration that happy campers usually dont make a peep. And with the number of downloads CM6/7 get per build, the number of ppl complaining of stuff not working, mysterious bugs, only happening to them issues, oh this rom sucks, I know wtf I am doing its gotta be the roms fault, amount to about 1 - 10%of the number of downloads.

- google navi was very slow and same lag issue after use.
- performing the "erase SD card" function would sometimes erase everything and give me the blank SD card warning forcing me to format it again using my computer.
- alarm clock would force close and not work at all sometimes.
After all this and different attempts to uninstall and reinstall, fix permissions, etc, I moved back to Icarus.
I did not have the latest version, but it was the latest at the time.
This is the version I tried --> CM7-Ascend-04162011-signed
Should I give the newest version a go? I was thinking I would wait another month...

0416? you was way behind, the latest is 05142011, give it a go, and about formatting the sdcard, its recommended to use cwm recovery to format sdcard, also everything works in cm7 also, its even overclock to 710,729,748 depending on if your phone can support it.

Dont forget to EXTRACT(unzip) the cwm.zip files! I left them zipped the first time I tried it and thought it worked only to see the stock recovery after it all and had to start all over.

you can download rom manager and it will install cwm for you and also you can download the roms straight to your phone.

Thanks Nuttmeg. I read up on all the versions and fixes that have happened and I've decided to do it again. I'm about to flash it now so I'll post back soon.

Ok flash went smooth as usual and been playing and tweaking. It is alot better now!! I am super impressed. What is the MetrOFF for? I have not flashed it yet...
Update: I read about it and I just created the apn as listed on this guide. Is there a difference?

I'm not clear on which to choose (w/adw or w/zeam ) ...I'm on Metro and thinking of flashing to CM6, since there seems to be issues w/ CM7 I flashed to

It really does not matter, if you flash either one, if you don't like it get the other one off the market. All of the launchers are on the market, pip was trying to give people options so they would not have to have a stock launcher that they did not use. It is totally personal preference.

Can't help there. I don't have a mac, so no clue. Also, i have not noticed anything wrong with the CM7 camera. Everything works on the last build of CM6, only thing i can't verify is the mac situation.

if you flash the metro off v1.3 you dont have to do anything with the apn, unless your not able to send/receive.
HELPPPP Plz...I rooted my phone, and installed rom manager and the cyanogen mod6 rom. Booted into recovery mode,
did the backup. I did the compelete wipe on data factory cache partition and wipe dalvik
. format boot system and data was done. I never put the cm6 rom on my sd card
so I decided to disconnect the phone to put it on. I put it on and tried to boot back to the menu
but all my phone does is hang at that white logo screen...HELPPPP

flash to stock and try again using this guide. cut rommanager out unless you want to pay for access to the roms.

From what I've read, you can use the free version to get the ROMs from Monday through Friday, you need the paid version to get them on the weekends. I could be wrong, though.

This is the (freaking awesome) thread I keep having to find (though I finally made an "Android" folder in my bookmarks and put it there this time.) It should definitely be stickied.

Download the cwm.zip---------> CWM Recovery.zip (Thanks to Jazzette for this from her icarus 1.1 guide)
make sure usb debugging is turned on (menu button, settings, applications, development, usb debugging)
boot your phone into debug mode (fastboot) press, in order, VOLUME ROCKER DOWN+END (HANG UP)+ POWER. your phone will stay at the huawei screen. attach to pc using usb cord.
open the cwm.zip and extract the files
open the cwm folder
open the following files (you may see the dos box open briefly, this shows it worked all file are labeled according to os, choose for your os)
adb
fastboot
install recovery
unplug your phone from the pc and remove the battery for ten seconds.
boot to cwm VOLUME ROCKER UP+CALL BUTTON+POWER
you should see a black screen with green text. you now have cwm
What exactly are we supposed to extract cwm to? The phone? I booted it as instructed, and connected to my computer, but the computer can't install drivers with it in dubug mode, so it doesn't recognize the device as being connected. I'm stuck. Please help.
Wait nevermind. I think I just read it wrong, now I feel dumb. x.x
Okay.. stuck again... I ran the programs from cwm and the dos screen for install recovery came up and just sits at "waiting for device".. what do I do now?

its not seeing your device. try dbl clicking all the .exe's in the recovery dir n try again.
This is a really good collection of guides. The only thing I suggest is removing the instructions to fix permissions after installing CM7. That'll only screw things up and there's no point.
Thanks for the guides.
