Basically All It did was Wipe my phone back to the state it was when I bought it. The only things that were left were: the factory Applications, The APN settings (It said that would be wiped too) SuperOneClick app, and one obscure contact (don't ask me how). The Phone is still running 2.1.
Someone, PLEASE, help. Give me some way that will work, because It doesn't look like Huawei/Cricket/MetroPCS is going to release that update any time soon (Or ever).

the only full working 2.2.1 rom is CaynogenMod6 (cm6)

and if you find another rom for the ascend and its not from this forum, dont trust it, and also if you have any problems with a rom thats not from here, we could suggest something to try to help. So bookmark this site for future refs...

thats a little biased. Prepaidandroids.net (myascend.org) is clean and safe too. as well as XDA

OMG....lolz he said be ashamed of theme self, and i bet they will install the wrong version at that giving them the uim error...but i seen so many fake videos with wrong info on them it not even funny...

Your download got corrupted. You will have to use a card reader and use that to put a new zip on the card. There is a md5 checksum on the page to check to make sure the file isn't corrupted. If you don't know about md5 Google it and get one of the free programs.

Kinda funny but the foodforyourphone site download sends you to the same site as prepaid androids and xda developers. It is the same file. I used it and am running 2.2.1 right now.

A fixed very stable version of dark lgs 2.2.1 (thanks to Etnie and Isaac for the fixes) I like the bone stock 2.2 rather than cm6 thats all hacked up to mash with the ascend. not that its a bad rom its just not my preference. No umi card errors but still no mms which im fine giving up. I have a flash of cm6 and 2.1 on my phone in case i want to send mms. I feel like some people jump to conclusions about things that are not on PPA XDA or AF calling them infected when most of it is the same thing in a different package. If you want cm6 you can find it if you want stock 2.2.1 that is what the foodforyourphone.info site offers. Not everyone is being shady or deceptive. just my 2 $.01

I'm only reporting what I have been told by windows owners who have had a small (seemingly harmless) virus pop up, not from z4root.
Just because a link goes to a known good site doesn't mean the link isn't a redirect through an infected source.
True I don't have mms but I still really like the rom maybe someday ill give it up and go to cm6. sorry if i seemed short in my last post but i know the stuff on that foodforyourphone site is legit and all works and is in no way malicious.
