I bought this phone around 1 month ago after my previous phone died. Has been a great replacement since. My only quarrel with this phone is the lack of space of the internal storage. (I only seem to have anything between 16 and 20 mbs free) and I am Continuesly clearing out the cache. I read somewhere that once my phone has been rooted that I can increase the internal storage partition. Or trick the phone into thinking the SD card is the a part of the internal storage.

My questions are, how do i root my phone?. I have tried SuperOneClick with no joy. (I have installed the drivers that are located on the the phone once connected to the pc).

And Can I increase the storage partition size?, as the lack of space is driving me insane!.

Apart from that, I am loving this phone. Yes, this is my first android device. I was an iPhone 3G user previously.

To root look up "huawei ascend customization guide", its a stickied thread. I would recommended you to just flash CM7, it has link2sd which I think is the answer to your problem. But before you do anything make sure you make a back up. Because if you mess anything up, there's no iTunes like program that will restore your device. Honestly though I would recommend you to get a better phone. Because they're much waaaaaay better android phones out there than this one that are cheap.

I was downloading a picture from facebook using my Huawei Ascend y100 (u8185) and my phone went off. I have tried opening but once the screen is on the screen lock is inactive and now i can't open my phone. pls advice
