CM7.2 Ascend Ringer won't work

Anyone know if there is a setting I have to change to get the ringer to do something other than make a strange crunching sound once and then just vibe? Also, I can't seem to use my earbuds for calls. I can use them to listen to music, but other than that, they aren't working.
