Suggest a 32gb class 10 micro SD card you have experience with please
Not what you read, not what you heard, but have you actually used a 32gb class 10 micro SD card and can suggest one for this tablet?
Many of us bought or will be buying the 32gb and expanding it with a card, and to get the best experience and least bottle neck on speed and card access (R/W), it seems class 10 32gb card would be ideal.

The Following User Says Thank You to Lock-N-Load For This Useful Post:
As far as I know for android OS anything over class 4 is not supported.
I wouldn't bother with a class 10. I have a class 4 and it works fine.
edit:
I can't find the google doc about it now. I do know you only need class 6 for 1080p recording if you were going to use the tablet as your camera. Unless you have the 100 dollars for the class 10's class 6 should be sufficient.

You want an SD card from Transcend. I'm a filmmaker and shoot with a camera that saves to SD cards. I trust only Transcend to not lose my precious footage.
PNY is 50 bucks but everything else is over 50. I don't plan on getting the dock right now so I would need the micro SD. I assumed thats what the OP needed.

First, not sure if this is so, but ICS might change that to some degree.
As well, we are talking about a tablet, which has some variations and differences than phones.
As mentioned below, price is so cheap, might as well buy a class 10. You if read up on class 10 cards, if the card is good and reliable, people always notice differences. As I see it, why not just buy class 10, it "should" beat any class 2,4,6 etc. So yeah, a class 4 should "work fine" but with a new tablet running ICS and Tegra 3 chips, I want to reduce any bottle neck to speed and so class 10 should help.

Although I bet a class 6 would cover all your needs, this is a great card at a great price so I'd go for it.
Thanks, I appreciate this insight. I have also had Transcend cards in the past.
BUT, that is not a micro SD card for the record.
I really only shoot for 10 as maybe in the future, something can really use 10 and I will have a card then for it. Sure, I doubt this tablet can use the real value of class 10, but at the price, why not.

Whoops, my bad. You're right.
For microSD for the Prime there is no need for anything faster than Class 6 (assuming it actually performs at that speed).
This class 6 is more than some class 10 funny how that happens seems like might as well buy class 10 & even if the Prime can't benefit something else in the future will & you'll have one ready.
How can we even find out what Max speed it can take? That is, if a class 10 card exists how are you so sure 6 is just fine on the latest most advanced tablet?

Couldn't find a Transcend microSD
Well, a class 6 card can handle (from my own experience) 1080p HD video at up to 60fps at 28mb/s quality with zero missed frames.
If the Prime can push a more data intensive need than that then it's the greatest tablet ever made!!

so with class 10 micro sd's running about $50 I think I'm starting to really give thought about purchasing the 64GB version of the prime since it would only be about a $50 difference in the end and internal storage is always gonna be faster and more reliable than external even if u do get a class 10...what do u guys think?

I'm having this same debate with myself. I'm that guy that HAS to get the best version of whatever I'm buying. I will also want the keyboard, so I'm trying to justify spending $800 on this + any other accessories. ($800=tab 64gb, dock, & 32gb microsd)
Thanks for the real world input Wynter. I doubt this tab will be that great at recording 1080p. The cameras on every tab have been anything but stellar, rightly so...it's a tab.

on board storage is always going to be better. and, 64 would even take another 32gb card.
if I could change my Amazon order, I likely would bump to 64 to be honest as I do not want to cancel my Amazon order and lose my spot. but for now, I am going to sit tight and still get a 32gb card as no matter what, I can always use it.
more research is needed though i think, but seems all class 10 cards I have looked at have the same problem with writing small files. If you are going to be writing a lot of smaller files a lower class card would be better suited it seems.
Yep, I have a droid x and the Droid Forums discussed this and they said the same. I wound up getting the class 4 for my droid x and it works great. Movies, music and all.
thanks for the tip.. SO many choices out there, it is overwhelming to pull the trigger on one but that has a great price and a pretty fair amount of reviews and 4.5 stars.
the fact it is an sdHC card should not matter, correct?

I would think not, I think HC is just related to capacity sizes and capacity sizes above a certain amount are HC (?). It has been years since I actually bought a card so a little weak on my knowledge. But I am 99% sure I am going to opt for the one you suggested as I like the price and ratings and I have another Transcend that has been flawless and the more and more I read, for my needs, Class 4 should be fine really.
Yep you should be good with that one. I know I searched and searched before ordering it.
BTW. One question for you. Do you remember what your estimated delivery date was on your prime before they emailed you that they were shipping out? Mine has been at January 11th for about 3 weeks.

before that, it only ever said the same thing from day 1 "after dec 25th"
