Default Transformer Prime $399 . Best Buy matching price.

WARNING !!! If this is in fact true then play it safe. Call Best Buy to match the price. There are several people in the thread who have confirmed that they received $100 off from Best Buy. Call and provide BB with the link to the AD. I personally would not order from the vendor in the link unless you have a credit card company with good backing against fraud.

This is the thread about it... Prime price drops to $388 and below is the link to item in store.

Item: Asus 32GB 10.1" Eee Pad Transformer Prime Android 3.2 Honeycomb Tablet

I know the link says $388 but it was copied from the other forum and already had the typo in it.

Well several people got priced matched and it seems the vendor price was legit and is now sold out. It also seem some people are picking it up locally from the vendor.

Wonder if this was just a really good price or perhaps this vendor has some inside info on the future of the Prime and is dumping stock ?

An ASUS rep over at the XDA forums has confirmed:

1. The Prime IS NOT being discontinued.
2. The TF700 is NOT a replacement for the Prime. It's a higher-end model that will be marketed alongside the Prime.

So, it would be great for all this conspiracy theory stuff to fade away...

Wonder if the Asus Rep raised his fingers slightly when he made statements 1 and 2 ? These aren't the droids your looking for. He can go about his business. Move along.

Asus also responded to the rumor of delays due to Wifi issues by saying there were none and there would be no delay. I guess that was only a partial lie since they did release on time .

Regardless the price was legit and there are confirmed price matches. I have also seen confirmed price matches from people who were turned down but called multiple times and got matched.

Well since its not in stock that I know of I would guess the $100 is coming off orders that were already placed.
