Your GPS kit has been shipped!!!!
Just checked my GPS kit status on Asus-VIP and today it went from
"Your request has been processed" to "Your GPS kit has been shipped".

Post if your status has changed or if you received yours yet.
I'll update this thread when mine arrives.
Can't wait to test this thing out.

Mine has also been shipped! Even though I probably won't use it, I'm still rather excited about getting it. I'm always excited about having something shipped to me.

Just received mine. Once I installed it still was searching for a satellite. Did the GPS Test app. It was seeing between 5 to 25 satellites but not connecting. So I figured I should reboot when I put it down to grab something and it started to reboot on its own. I left the tablet on the table as I was busy but had my eye on it. Very 30 sec to a minute it would reboot. I picked it up and went to Google maps at that point it found my location.
Shipped . I'm still probably gonna get a T700 though, if it seems worth the extra $$$, and sell my Prime. I'll let you more tech savvy persons test the T700 then I'll decide .
Mine hasn't arrived yet. The Asus webpage says that it's being processed, but below that it's asking me in red letters to confirm my shipping address. The problem is that it won't let me! The serial no box is empty, but it won't let me fill it, and when I click submit it complains that it's empty!
I did email them to find out what's what, and the reply was not very reassuring. I got the impression that the guy wasn't that interested. He reckons that as long as I registered before requesting the dongle, it should be OK. I don't know how else it would have been done though - ?

That's so you can register for another one if you have more than one Prime. Ignore it.
Like others here, i have just received mine. I used titanium backup to move my LEGAL copy of Navigon to my prime (since the prime cannot find it in Google Play). I drove to work this morning and it seems like i am getting close to a 6 foot accuracy at 70 MPH. It could even distinguish between local and express lanes... absolutely fantastic.
Now if they would have included pass-through charging, id be in heaven.

I live in England but would love to use this in France as my 'map' and navigation tool. Will it work without wifi though?
Received my GPS dongle today and it worked very well indeed (tested indoors) with GPS Test app. For navigation I use Navfree as the maps are resident rather than pulled via wifi. You can download maps for UK and France etc.

Navigon works without wifi. It is not assisted either. I was in the car holding Ramzes13 tablet when we ran the test going to work. Navigon was DOBA. The tablet was seeing 1 sat till we put the dongle in which inturn the prime showed 14 sats using 9 of them.

in order to use Navigon, i had to make a titanium backup of the paid version from my phone and restored it on my Prime. I do not think Navigon is cleared for use on it yet, which is why it doesnt show up.
The issue with most free navigation apps on android or ios is that they are designed for cell phone that have an always on data connection to pull appropriate data as needed and gets supported by ads.
Navigon being owned by Garmin already has navteq maps that get stored locally to standalone GPS devices. So what they do is import that map data to be stored on the phone's (or tablets in this case) sd card to be used offline. If you can go this route for the 49.99 usd app, i highly reccomend it, I use it alot for travel at work, a data connection is not needed at all for it to work but when you do have signal it will update weather and traffic on the fly and reroute as needed. I hope this helps.

I submitted my application on April 18th... Status remains as "Your application successfully submitted" or something to that effect. I'm a little worried because I read in an article that ASUS will not be shipping dongles to customers with Primes not from the US or Taiwan, because they apparently didn't market them to have GPS capabilities outside of those two countries. I bought my Prime from Gamestop.com, and had it shipped to a US address. Problem is that I live in Japan, and had ASUS send the dongle to my Japanese address. Hope they comply and send it soon, since my Prime IS from a US retailer...
Asus says shipped but when I track it on FedEx it only says they've received the information from the shipper. WTF?
Has your shipment info updated yet? There's at least 10 of us over on XDA in the same situation, mine is still nothing but label and Asus is no help at all thru phone/email!

ASUS is providing a free dongle to address the problem of the GPS. You need to register your Prime (if you haven't already done so) and then order the GPS dongle through the ASUS member page. You can register or log in here: https://vip.asus.com/login.aspx
Once you've registered your Prime, you can clock on the tab on the side that says TF201 GPS Extension Kit Apply and Inquire to order the dongle. Transformer Prime GPS Dongles Begin Arriving at Doorsteps – Droid Life
