yep its pretty good really and you dont have to touch the screen at all to do things. it doesnt fit on my lap well sitting on the couch but its pretty good on hard surface
Not sure if it's very useful to many others, but I can select another different language ASUS keyboard (e.g. Chinese). To switch between English and Chinese input, I can use Ctrl-Space on the keyboard without touching the notification area to switch language.

Here's a trick to quickly switch between the last 2 apps you were using.
Position the mouse pointer to the switch app icon (the third icon from the bottom left, looks like two white boxes stack together). Place it right above the icon white line in that black area, double click that area will allow you to switch between the last 2 app windows. That double click cannot be too quick tho =)
I've seen this listed in other threads but to keep your browser from going to mobile sites go to settings then Advanced then User Agent String and select Desktop. When I had Tablet selected it would constantly switch to mobile versions.
Just an aside, the facebook app absolutely stinks compared to the full web site which works perfectly for me.

I use KeePass. This is because I use it on all of my computers at home and Sync any changes to my NAS so they all sync.
The android version does not sync, so I occasionally copy the file to it with File Manager HD. The search function is in a menu, which is extra clicks but it works well enough.
I've been using eWallet for the last bunch of years. You can have it on your phone and sync with your computer to keep it current. The downside is that on your phone its view only (updates have to be done on your computer) and it dosen't yet run on the TF because of Honeycomb. The same company has a differnent program out that on's the market that apparently you can edit the files on your phone; however, I don't have any experience with that. Overall, eWallet works fairly well for me.
I posted this on the XDA forums, but as some of you dont have access, or may not visit that site I am posting it here as well.
hope it helps someone.
I will add more as I think of them or find new solutions to problems.
1. Try MultiPicture if you are having problems getting Wallpapers to work on the tablet, it scales the image to fit the screen, so you won’t get your image cropped or distorted. Use a 1280x800, 72dpi image for perfect results. In MultiPicture settings, you can disable the homescreen scrolling so that the image stays still when you flip through your homescreens. You can also use different pictures on each homescreen if you like.
2. Use a static picture as wallpaper, live wallpapers are fun but seem to slow down the home screen transitions slightly in Honeycomb still.
3. Rockplayer, Vplayer and Moboplayer are all great apps that support almost every movie format and codec out there, they allow you to play movie files on the tablet that aren’t supported out of the box. You may have to select the Software decoding option in Rockplayer to get some formats working.
4. If you don’t already have it, install Windows Media Player 11 or higher on your PC and add any folders that you would like to be able to access from the Transformer to the library in WMP. (don’t forget to share them in windows as well by right clicking them and going to the sharing option etc.)
5. Install the app UPnPlay, it will make viewing your shared media much easier. It also allows you to choose the app you want to view media with, so you can choose Rockplayer or Vplayer etc to stream your movies.
6. Plex is another good app for accessing shared media, you have to install a server application on your PC and add any folders you want to be shared to the server application, then run the tablet app. It’s very simple and it adds cover art etc to your movies by searching the files meta data.
7. Install File Manager HD, it’s a great tablet optimised file manager and it can see your network shared files once you add a new W-lan connection. Use 192.168.0.2 (or your PC’s IP address), your Windows log on name and your Windows password.
8. If you are looking for a good news reader for your tablet, try News 360, it has a great interface and works really well. It has the option to show local news as well as national/international.
9. A great Magazine app recently released for Honeycomb is Zinio, try the version from the market, its slightly different to the one on the transformer, I prefer the UI. Zinio has a large and growing selection of magazines, its interface is great and the magazines look amazing on the transformers screen.
10. ACV is a brilliant comic viewer that reads most comic formats, it works well on the tablet.
11. Extended Controls is a brilliant app/widget that lets you add controls for virtually every setting on your tablet to your homescreen, for example WiFi or Bluetooth and even a toggle to force a media scan (useful if you have just transferred files to your tablet and they aren’t showing in the gallery etc.)
12. Plume is the Twitter app I am using, it has a great tablet optimised interface and a brilliant widget.
13. It’s still a bit choppy and laggy sometimes, but try out the website TVCatchup Mobile for free to air UK television channels, a huge selection of free channels that play about 5 seconds behind live TV. Wifi recommended but I have had it working on 3G. Some channels work better than others. Try changing your browser agent from android to desktop or even iPhone to get a better result.
14. TV Guide UK is just that, a great TV guide for your tablet, it’s not Honeycomb optimised and runs in portrait mode, but it works well and has a great interface. You can filter the channels in the settings to just show the channels you have or want to see.

Did someone help you out? Don't forget to thank them!
Just had to share this with you guys, took an airplane ride yesterday and once the ok was given everyone started breaking out their ipads. I waited a few minutes then like a pimp I reached down and brought my TF out of it's case and undocked the tablet, I heard the lady across the aisle say "did you see that! We have to get one of those! That is so cool!" I love the TF!

Thanks for the quick reply & the tip. I think I'll put my order for the Transformer & keyboard dock today.
Had a look around town this lunchtime, there were plenty of places to pick up the Transformer in the shops, but nobody seems to have the keyboard attachment, quoting around 2 weeks delivery for it. Most annoying.
Yes, I tried Currys & PCW online - the bundle isn't in stock there either. Finally found the bundle over at Ebuyer at list price. When I first checked they had 55 of the bundle in stock - when I came to order a few minutes later they were down to 50, so I guess it's selling well.
Ok to help u guys i tried a 720p 6 gig rip. Freezes or stops in about 5 minutes on my TF and my Evo using upnplay and rockplayer. Standard def streams no prob on both devices using Rockplayer and mobo. Thinking it might be a wifi bandwith limittation i tried my archos 70 using its smb player and no probs. So its not wifi. Then i used the upnp built into the archos 70 and still no freezing. So the tversity media server is not the problem. So then i installed upnplay on my archos 70 played the video using the archos native player and still no problem so its not upnplay. Then i used upnplay with rockplayer on my archos 70 and it stopped within 5 minutes.so it would seem to be the players. Archos has alot of codecs and optimised as a media player since that is its roots. So at least u know standard def works with the setup of tversity, upnplay, and rockplayer or mobo but u need a different player like the archos native one to play high def. Long post but i hope it helps save u guys time.

This was REALLY useful. Thanks a lot, mate. Spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to switch languages, had to use on-screen keyboard to do that.

Very useful post mate, this lets down this beauty allot. It has to be able to play any media file!!
ES file explorer, File browser that can see networke files, sd cards, and even allows music and picture streaming! [No videos though]
Snes9x, supports wiimotes within the application! Super Nintendo
N64oid, playable Nintendo 64, does not support wiimote
FPse, possible the best playstation 1 out there, until PSone comes around, does not support wiimote.
WiiMoteControl, allows you to enable your wiimote with nun-chucks using a keyboard language setup.
Opera mini, an amazing internet browser!

This sounds awesome, but they didn't include my language. :S Sucks for WiimoteControl or a preferred keyboard.

Is there anything like this for the soft keyboard, or am I missing understanding this.

What did you use for the rip? I'm trying to find a program that will rip both a dvd and bluray but have not seen anything that indicates it can do both (I have seen seperate programs, just nothing combined). Anybody know of a program that will do both?
I use DVDFab, but AnyDVD also does both. They are both excellent programs for backups. DVD Catalyst is also a good value, but I'm not sure if it supports Blu Ray.

My understanding from the guy from DVD Catalyst that posts here on occasion is that his/her program will rip most DVDs on its own except for some of the more aggressively encrypted items like Disney. For Bluray, he/she said you need to have something like ANYDVD HD to help DVD Catalyst with decryption. Unfortunately, ANYDVD HD with the current promotional discount is $90! Yikes! I think that's a bit much to access MY disks.
The nice thing about DVDFab, is their is a trial period. After the trial, decryption of all disks still works just not the extra features. You just need another program to make usable disks out of them. I use ImgBurn for that purpose.

Thanks for the info. I went to the link you had and it talks about being able to rip blu-rays but does not say anything about being able to do a regular dvd. Do you know if it will do both? Also, if I rip a blu-ray so that I can play it on my TF when I travel will it play since I don't think the TF supports blu-ray, or will it convert the blu-ray to something that will play on the TF?
Yes it will do both, I use it myself. Like I said once the trial runs out, it will only decrypt the disc and output them to your hard drive. You can use a free program called Handbrake to convert them to a TF friendly format. See the following thread for info on using that. [GUIDE] 720p Handbrake preset for TF101 (HC3.1 Update) - xda-developers
As far as DVDFab converting them, the paid version does have some convert features, but I refuse to pay for that when it can be done with free software.

I copied a blu-ray movie I had with DVDFab and it did make a copy that I could play on my laptop (didn't have time last night to try it on my TF yet) but it was slow. DVDFab advertises that its really fast but it took 2 1/2 hours to copy a movie of about the same length. Is this what others also experience? I was hoping that it would be faster than that.
For syncing, backing up and sharing files I would use SugarSync. Available on and syncing between Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Symbian.

As I noted earlier I made a copy of a blu-ray movie and have now put it on my TF and played it. It seemed to play fine using the default viewer however the sound level was very low (and yes, I did have the volumne turned all the way up). I also tried playing it using MoboPlayer with the same volumne issue. Any ideas why the volumne is so low?

My desktop rips a 50GB Blu Ray usually just over an hour. That is doing usually just the main movie file and full quality. I'm running a 3.0GHz dual core with 4GBs of RAM. Might be an issue with your PC.
What sound format did you extract from it? If it was a surround format that maybe the trouble. Need to convert to AC3 2ch or use the standard stereo track if there is one.

Hi Chimp, you are correct. DVD's work out of the box, but for Bluray, something extra is needed. I personally prefer AnyDVD HD, basically because it acts as a layer on top of the BR, enabling you to convert it directly from the disc. There are other solutions as well. You could use DVDfab's Passkey, which works similar to AnyDVD HD, or you can use MakeMKV (free while in Beta) to create an mkv on your computer, which can then be converted. I just find that AnyDVD works the easiest, and Slysoft is also quite good with updates in case something needs to be changed.

I didn't see an option to allow me to select a sound option. I believe it recorded the sound track in 5.1. How do you change what sound track is the default?
