Default widget resizing?

i cannot figure out how to get widgets to resize. I long press and hold the widget, but the ability to resize doesnt show up. I'm running jelly bean, which i'm sure allows this bc I've done it with my phone.

depends on the widget probably. Some have "different widgets" which are all the same except for the size.

Its only certain widgets you can do this with such as g+ and HD widgets.

You choose the size of the widget when you you choose the widget. As others have said some apps give you the option as to size of widget, but they are all listed separately in the list of widgets. So HD widgets for example have all sorts of sizes to choose from ranging in size from 1X1 to 4x7.

If you do not like the size you have chosen just have a look in the widgets list - press "squares" at the top right of screen, then choose Widgets. Choose a different one from the list for the particular app, for example HD widgets have 13 different sizes. If you can only see the one size then that is all there is, and you are stuck with it.

Apex Launcher and Nova Launcher both have the functionality to resize widgets but i believe you need root for it to work. Primo Launcher also has the feature since its based on what Apex and Nova are based on but you need to download and install it manually since its not on the Play Store
