Dunno if I'd trust anything not OEM, but that's just me. Eliminates ability for cases, as well.

But, looking forward to what you think.

I was waiting for the slim 2200 mah battery but it appears they dropped the idea. I can't wait to test this thing out

Do you guys really see a need for an extended battery with the Atrix? I'm just curious, because the one that I own is really quite good on battery life. I had an extended battery on my Droid Incredible, because that was an HTC phone that was woefully underpowered, but the Atrix (to me anyway) does real good with the stock battery.

I get amazing battery life as well, but if I do a lot of travelling I mainly use my phone to take pictures and record video so an extended battery in my opinion is needed. Plus I just like having things for my phone.

And that is EXACTLY where I'm at too. I have chargers all *over* the place, so if one of my android phones needs charging, I simply plug it in. Battery life has never been an issue for me.

I might be interested if it still allowed me to use my Otterbox Defender case. Doesn't look like that's possible.

not yet at least.

I'm okay with going naked for a while. Haven't dropped my phone once since I got it and confident removing my case won't make me drop it. The backing they give you looks rubbery and more grippy than the stock one.

So the battery arrived in the mail today. Took 13 days to get here. Here are my initial reactions:

Pros: The extra size feels comfortable in my hands and I don't mind not being able to case it yet. The battery is holding a decent charge but i'm waiting for my full drain/top up to really get an idea about the life of it. The back they give has a nice matte finish and adds some grip the phone as well.

Cons: Because of the extra size and the way the HD dock is positioned I cannot fit it in the dock even if I remove the piece of plastic above it sadly although I assume it would still work in the Lapdock though.

Thats about it for now. I recommend it if you want to add some extra handle to the phone but if you're currently happy with the battery life you are getting I don't think its necessarily something you can't live without.

Like I said, once I do a full drain/top up i'll report how much battery life I get out of it with heavy use. I know it could take a few charges before it reaches its potential so i'll post in a week or so.

New con to report: been putting the battery through its paces and it definitely has a lot more life than stock. Sadly though i think the kernel is optimized for the stock battery. So itll count down to 1 (as per circle battery widget) then die after four or five hours heavy usage. I don't know how to fix this and I tried a battery calibration. Im open to suggestions if anyone has found a work around.

I was thinking about ordering this battery but if you draining it that fast no since in getting it. I'm getting 10 plus hours on my original battery, I still drop my phone a few times a week so need my case on it.

I may have worded my thoughts incorrectly.

What I meant was it was draining but would show at 1% untill it would eventually die. I was getting well over 10 hours with the extended battery it was just unpredictable to figure out when it would die. But if you need the case then hold off on this one because the backing sticks out and there aren't any cases for it at this time.

Did you do battery calibration through clockwork mod, or through a market app?

I wonder if it's just a matter of increasing a number through ADB or SQlite? I have no idea, but I'll blindly poke around sqlite and see if I can find battery info somewhere.
