My first voice call was kind of freaky, but a few hours later I was able to call both another AT&T cell and our land-line.

Everything is pretty solid so far.

Some G1's and N1's used to get this. A couple of questions to double check here...
Are you rooted
Have you signed into the Market app and/or the Google Talk app?

Let me chew on this for a bit and get back to you here... Answer those if you can though

Don't know if it is an issue but when I plug the charger in the backlight remains on instead of turning off after 1 minute (timeout i have in setting).
My nexus and all my other phones don't do this. Maybe a Moto thing.
Anyone else?

The screen might be defaulting to staying on while charging. Try this to disable it:

Settings > Applications > Development > Uncheck "Stay Awake."

Default Severe Red Push

Has anyone else noticed a severe red push on video playback?

In general, I find the display sharp and pleasing. But, on video playback, it seems very soft and heavily red tinted. I can't find any way to adjust settings that might lessen this. I presume it's a by-product of the screen technology in use, but, it's way over done for video playback.

For comparison, I played the same file at the same time on the following devices: Atrix, Inspire, Captivate, and Iphone 4. I found the Captivate to be the sharpest and most vibrant whereas the Iphone 4 was crisp with more lifelike color. The Inspire was good but also had a slight red push and slightly soft overall display. The Atrix was by far the most red and most soft. I refer to soft as the loss of detail in a blanket that was draped over a sofa in the video I played back.

I had a weird charging situation, but it's not really a problem with the phone so much.

We have a little surge protector + 2 USB ports, and with the Atrix plugged in and the wife's iPhone 4, they were both flipped out (almost like flipping the power to the outlet on/off really fast).

I swapped the Atrix to the provided AC adapter (same surge protector) and both charge just fine. It must have a bigger power draw or something[?]

Like I said, no biggie, but just wanted to mention it in the off chance somebody else runs into this. For the record, we always kept the iP4 and Captivate both connected via the USB ports.

I'm pretty tech savvy but couldn't find that one.
Now if I can find a if there is a setting to change the notification light to only blink for a certain length of time...without rooting.

it's good that this is all that's happening thus far. all sounds software related. some of the original Evo users had screens coming off of their device and crap.

Unhappy Boot Loop

Hello, I'm new to Androids. Just got my Atrix yesterday. It got stuck in a boot loop last night and I'm not sure how to fix it. It loads the Motorola Dual Core screen then the AT&T screen then it restarts. I can get to the menus on start up by holding the power and the volume down key on start up. I have these options after that:

Fastboot
NvFlash
BP HW Bypass RSD
BP HW Bypass QC DLOAD
BP HW Bypass & Boot AP
BP HW Bypass BP Only
BP SW Bypass RSD
Android Recovery
Boot Android (No BP)
Device UID
Console=ttyS0,115200n8
Early USB Enumeration
RSD

Problem being is I'm not sure what to do next to fix this problem.

Please Help,
Thanks.

Mine just shut off with 70% battery left which sucked because I used it as my alarm clock this morning. I woke up 10 min late and I was like wtf. Check the phone and it was off. Had to fully restart. That is not a good sign.

It wasn't the first boot. I was able to boot it up and set up some things on the phone. I added a few free apps to check them out. I got an error from one of them so I closed the programs and restarted the phone. Now it's just boot looping.

Other than data speeds, which ill give att the benefit of the doubt for now, the only thing that bothers me is the yellow color the screen produces. On android related apps, it shows up as a goldish color.

My Atrix shut down and did not reboot last night. No response from the power button, or any other for that matter. Had to yank the battery, been fine since. I'm not rooted btw...

Let me try! Haven't [re]installed it yet.

[edit]

Yeah, it runs to the splash screen with Google Earth, the earth image and the spinning "wait" animation and no further. I'm on WiFi too, so I would figure if it was fetching more data, it would be pretty quick.

Mine did a random reboot yesterday about 3 hours after opening. It was hooked up to a USB port at the time and I'd probably loaded half a dozen apps but nothing risky (I don't think) Pandora, Ebay, dropbox, Google search, pogoplug & speedtest. I've tried to reproduce it by opening and running as many apps I as could and so far so good.

I haven't been able to sync facebook with my existing contacts with the facebook android app. I mentioned this elsewhere but I think it's a problem with blur. I don't want to use the "blur" facebook, that one sucks and populates my entire facebook into my address book, which I definitely don't want. I just want it to sync info with my existing contacts. Anyone get this working or find a work-around?

Lucky you! Did you have to do anything tricky to get it going or should I just try to install it again?

My biggest gripes or issues with the phone is the power/screen unlock button is way too hard to tap/hit. You really have to dig in with a nail to get it to push. So used to the ease of the N1 button right on top.

Other issue was that none of my apps downloaded in the market. I dont know why this doesn't work but its too time consuming to download over 50 apps individually. When I got the Inspire last week it downloaded everything automatically. I guess thats the difference between Sense and Blur.

My other gripe is that I cant seem to get my corporate email account to work. Theres just too many damn input options (Incoming server, outgoing server), Im not an IT admin. The Nexus One was very simple to get going and didnt ask all that crap. Maybe its not a problem with the phone per se but the user, still, it shouldnt be that hard.

while I agree that the button is hard to press, I don't see it as much of a problem because I have gotten used to it, and I actually love where the button is located. It seems to be just perfect because it is a little difficult when the button is on top to reach all the way up to the top of the phone, but on the atrix I can comfortably reach it from however I am gripping the phone.

Now if I can find a if there is a setting to change the notification light to only blink for a certain length of time...without rooting.
If you use disable the screen always on option, it will also cause the phone to turn off if you have it docked more then likely.

Actually, the best way I figured to press the power is hold in left hand, then take your right hand/thumb over ear speaker, use tip of right pointer finger to press. Very easy.

There's another thread on this here or in xda... but its believed its the little LED lights in the menu bar. They get warm, but I've tested it for a while and they only get warm, not dangerously hot... at least so far!!

I installed in it was stuck at the load screen. I hit back, then went back into it and it was frozen and force closed after about 30 seconds. I then went back in again and it's now running great.
