How do I sync my new Motorola Atrix4G and OUtlook 2007
How do I sync my new Motorola Atrix4G and OUtlook 2007.
I don't care if the sync is via USB or wireless but it needs to sync Outlook Mail, Calendar, Note and Contacts
I'm a little disillusioned after switching from a Blackberry to Android and not finding what I would have taken as a given, and that is an included app to sync to outlook which has to be the most widely used application of it's kind.
I want to sync to me desktop(Not exchange, Google etc)
Any advice would be appreciated

I emailed myself a vCard file, clicked on it in the web interface of my email, Squirrelmail, and the phone proceeded to import the contacts.
Alternatively check out the Moto Phone Portal it is very very cool. I found this after I had already imported them via email.
My biggest complaint is that some of my contacts have M's on the end that was evidently put there by my old phone when it exported. It put M's on the end of contacts
that were in memory versus being in the SIM.
I do have a problem with the file browser of the Moto Phone Portal and that is that it
requires Internet Explorer. Which means I need to use a Windows machine which is a drag. That plus what goober thought it was a good idea to REQUIRE a specific browser for anything? Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Android Sync with Outlook via Google
Instructions:
Launch Microsoft Outlook on your computer. Select "File" and click on "Options" and then "Advanced". Now locate "Export" and click on it. Then click "Export to a file" and the “Next" option. Choose "Comma Separated Values" (CVS) as the file format type.
Identify the contact folder that you want to export and then click "Next". Now save the CSV file on your workstation. Click "Next" and then "Finish."
Log into the Google account linked with your Android device. Select "Gmail" and click on “Contacts”.
Locate and choose "More actions". Then click "Import". Choose the CSV file that you saved on your workstation. Lastly click "Import" to transfer contacts.
You can use the same procedure to sync calendar, notes and memos.

Moto Phone Portal (via browser access, initiate from phone), or Moto Phone Tools should work. At most, you may have to install some USB drivers from Moto site's Support page.
I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to sync to exchange for this but I was able to use Corporate Sync that comes standard on the Atrix, input my Outlook Web Authentication information and have access to my Outlook calendar, contacts and emails on my phone now.

I too have been disappointed with the lack of support for syncing with Outlook. I use a separate PST file to manage my Contacts (and a few other things). This file can easily be moved between computers giving me the same contact list everywhere (without having to expose to Google, etc).
So I almost gave up, but then stumbled over MyPhoneExplorer. Now, I have only used this for Contacts since I sync my calendar via Exchange. MyPhoneExplorer is a very simple application that does what I want - allows me to sync my Outlook contacts to the Atrix. It allows the selection of the outlook folder to sync with - a must, as many applications like this will only sync to the default folder and I don't use the default. It also syncs the picture/image which is what I wanted. So far so good.
The only issue I found so far is a lack of support for Categories or groups. MyPhoneExplorer is supposed to pick this up in an upcoming release. but there is an issue with the Atrix Contact manager. It doesn't appear to use the same groups as outlook and only shows Google groups (I guess). I really want to replace this application, mainly because of this issue. I downloaded an app called Contact Group Manager and it does seem to find and manage to the Outlook Categories/Groups. I would like to replace the built in Contact Manager on the Atrix with this one.

google sync now works with my outlook and google calendar! Hooray.
It is at the bottom of your google calendar page! syncs the google calendar with outlook calendar. Leaves gmail alone. Yay.
Makes me happy now I can edit one calendar and not have to worry about keeping my google calendar open on my desktop all the tiime.

I have used Plaxo for years and I didn't even realize that my droid updated my contacts automaticaly once I set up my gmail account on my phone.
VERY EASY and one of the nice features on the pay version is a contacts deduplicator.
Oh yeah by the way it has been solid for me so far.
You no longer need 3rd party software as many people suggested above.
You can automatically (or manually) synchronize Outlook (or Windows Live Mail) email, contacts, and calendar with your Android device, as long as you have a Hotmail, MSN Mail, or Live email account. Just add it to the standard Android email app. Instructions are here.
Caveats:
Any contact or calendar items will have to be on your Hotmail/MSN/Live account and will not be synchronized with Gmail (which is arguably a good thing) or be searchable with Google Voice Search (which is not a good thing since it works better than the built in voice dialer) but you can still use those contacts to make phone calls, send emails (from whatever account you choose), navigate, etc.
You need to keep your Outlook contacts and calendar events on a Hotmail/MSN/Live account in Outlook. Also, subfolders for email are allowed, but subfolders for Calendar and Contacts are not.
Somebody above suggested a 3rd party app called MyPhoneExplorer. Beware of MyPhoneExplorer because it can't handle all Outlook contact fields (like job title, phone 2, etc.) and consequently it will ruin your Outlook database if you synchronize the truncated data back to your PC!!! But again, there is no longer any need for 3rd party synchronization software.
Yes, people use Outlook at home... especially those people that work from home.
I am incredibly frustrated that I have no way to sync my contacts, calendar and notes with my supposedly sophisticated android phone. I actually have the Motorola Photon 4g, but believe me we are in the same boat as everyone else that uses an Android phone.
I have looked at a few of the 3-party options like CompanionLink and VCOrganizer Pro. The first one made me use their version of a contacts/calendar app and the second one wouldnt work.
What is the deal with syncing with Outlook. Is Google really that adamant about us using Gmail or is it because Microsoft wont let them unless Google pays them a piece of the pie. Either way, it's the end-user that loses.

Can you give more details. I opened my gmail calendar and I do not see anything there about outlook calendar.
