Exclamation Screen will not unlock, reboots self

Hi all. Just to start off, I love android, but I hate manufacturers. I have had nothing but heartache, first with the captivate (i had 7 replacements) and now the greatly disappointing atrix. It constantly reboots by itself, takes forever to restart. It also has a tendency of locking up when not in use.

When I lock the screen, I expect it to unlock when I hit the button. Nope. At least 15 times a day I pull the battery. This has happened on all 3 (!) Atrix devices I havenow had. Bestbuy continually says there is nothing they can do.but give me one exactly like it. In the past week or so, ihave pulled the battery about ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY TIMES. That is ridiculous! ATT said toobad, best buyhas to handle it. Motorola will not talk.tome. I can barely even type on it anymore since so many battery pulls have ruinedalmost everything on it, as evidencedby this poorly typed post. i just want tofix it. I just want a phone that willnot force me to pull the battery every FIVE MINUTES.
When I lock it, the screen goes black. When I try to unlo,k it, the screen does not respo.d. It stays dark. The phone is still on, as hitting the button doesn't turn it on. Instead I have to pull the battery and restart it myself. It happens at least 15 times a day. The last two.were at about 8 a day. What can I do to fix it? Thanks..

Could still use some help. It's kinda important. I use this phone for school and I can't use a locked up phone.

I am having this exact same issue as you, and I just got mine yesterday. I got a Refurbished model for free from ATT. It was all good until this morning. When I leave it alone for a long time it throws a fit and wont come back from being asleep. I yank the battery and repeatedly hit the button on the back. If I hit the button and leave it alone it seems to restart its self. I have also noticed that it will just randomly reset its self. Thats not a huge deal since I am not constantly on the phone and it has yet to do it when I am actually using it. The phone appears perfect when you play on it constantly.

I installed a few apps, and I have started to uninstall some in case the apps are the issue. Any help would be appreciated. It has the most up to date OS installed.

I also just experienced the phone not only staying asleep, but I had a text message (Green blinking Light) and it still did not come back awake.

Those are the exact same problems. Apparently nobody in the world knows what causes it, including motorola and att. Dont keep it. Get the lg thrill or something if you want free.

My Atrix started doing this just recently. I have no idea why. It had been working without a hitch for about a year. Now, as soon as it boots, a minute or more goes by and the screen turns off and nothing i do turns it back on. So i have to remove the battery and let it boot again, only to have the screen fail once more... Crap, I was hoping someone had found a solution to this already. Guess I'll try to reset it, see if that works...

The Motorola Atrix 4G brings several firsts to AT&T's lineup, among them a dual-core CPU in the form of NVIDIA's Tegra 2 platform. The CPU is clocked at 1GHz per core, providing enough zip to match the HSPA+ connectivity and 4G download... Read More
