This open source root and unroot Android application (via: shakalaca), Universal androot 1.6.2 beta 5 has made some improvement or change log on:
  • Add soft root widget
  • Change “/system/bin/su” link to “/system/xbin/su” link.

Freedom to do more of what your phone is able to do. Custom roms, wireless tether, overclocking, etc.

I had to change the setting fro "Auperuser for Android 1.5-1.6" to "Superuser for Android 2.0-2.2". Then it worked.
