Shortly after reading this thread, I got all excited and managed to change my battery icon using TBH. I posted a pic in this post ... pretty cool, huh? So far, so good.
Then I got greedy ...
So I proceeded to use TBH to change my font. The app said it was "successful" so I rebooted, and woohoo! New system fonts! But they were wacky, so I open TBH again and decide to try a different font. Tapped on another selection and got the same "successful" reply. I reboot ... and ... and ... what? ... STUCK! Pull the battery, press the power, here's the initial boot screen, and ... and ... and ... NOTHIN!!!WHAT HAVE I DONE????????
I go to bed.
First thing this morning I get up and Google "Motorola Bionic sbf file", which leads me to this page. I follow the directions to the letter, and BAM! Joe's got his phone back. Like new even! Thank goodness I did a nandroid backup before this whole adventure. (See! I'm not THAT stupid!)
I think I'll wait until we have the complete clockworkmod recovery before getting too crazy.
Glad I got my phone back. Now ... gotta go restore it.
I have a saying that I use often. "It ain't yours, until ya worked on it."
But I'm pretty sure when it comes to a Droid, "It ain't yours, until ya BROKE it!".
The oh crap heart pounding feeling let's me know I'm still alive.
So I'm not the only one that can't leave well enough alone and tinkers with everything. Lol

I was a distraught owner of a bricked-Bionic. You gotta give a boy some slack.
Let us know how everything turns out!

I don't remember if I wrote to thank you for your consise instructions late last week when my bionic and I had a simultaneuous meltdown. It has been on my mind and I couldn't find a post to that effect, so please accept my belated appreciation. You and few other favorites on this forum make it all worthwhile

You also needed to wipe cache and data factory reset. I would not worry about wiping battery stats until you get it flashed. It sounds like the smaller file is bad, try and downloaded it again and flashing if not do the full.

Will do, once i get back home i will download the files again and try. I have used the smaller file before and no issues but will downlaod again and if no go will do the complete one. i also did wipe the cache but forgot the factory reset, thanx for reminding me. just always wiped battery stats when switching roms on the thunderbolt so it is a habbit.
on the phone on AP Fastboot near the bottom it says
Invalid CG OTV (CG; system) : Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: system, status: 0x004e)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system)
need something, never saw those words at the bottom before.
tried 2 different minimal files and 1 complete file nothing works
thanx for the info, will try that. currently i am waiting for the phone to charge. the ap fastboot screen says battery low cannot program. had it on the wall charger for about an hour and still nothing. when you say type everything exactly, what exactly am i supposed to type. i am not real good with command prompt stuff. thanx
and yes, i already have the windows drivers installed and can run RSD lite it jkust says FAIL. i have run it before on this same computer so i know i have the right drivers and all.
got it, as soon as it charges enough for me to allow programming i will do it.
any idea if this thing charges while in fastboot, i have had it on the charger for over an hour and it still says battery low....cannot program. i cant get any further than the fastboot screen so i got nothing at this ppoint. thanx for your help, hopefully i can get this thing restored.

Is it plug into the charger that came with the bionic or are you charging off of your computer?
Sorry for the slow reply but i could not get back on the site
had it plugged into a third party ac charger for 1 hour, then plugged into computer for 20 min. now trying wall charger that it came with and will let sit for an hour or two
had it plugged into the wall charger it came with for last hour and 15 min. i unplugged it and within 10 seconds it turned off, like it was not charging at all. no problems at all before attempting to flash. gonna let it charge overnight, but doubt it will make a difference. will try a new battery tomorrow if i have to because it says low battery and i cant do shit now
If the charger is less than 0.8 amp charger the bionic will take forever. That is why when charging off your computer takes so long because a standard usb is only 0.5 amp and also why most aftermarket chargers take a long time.

ok, i found out my battery took a shit and i got a warranty replacement. once installed i was still unable to get RDS lite to flash, kept getting flashing error. used the One Click Fastboot Restore and that worked like a charm. needless to say i am back up and running with the new Theory Rom and loving it. thanx for all your help everyone. still not sure why RDS worked before but not anymore but not even worried about it since the one click method worked flawlessly. That was a long 2 days without a phone especially since my internet business odes have a phone number. Back to the Bionic and Bats....
PS...there really may be something to the unsupported chargers thing as i had it plugged in to a third party charger and the battery percentage was actually dropping.....this is prior to my fix. now nothing but OEM i guess.
Here is another great way to get your phone unbricked. This a newer version of the fastboot method suggested above. I've used it twice so far, once to actually unbrick my phone and the other time to return to stock so I could return the phone. Works very well, you don't have to download rsd or the recovery file, its all in one package. Just put the phone into fastboot, connect to a pc and run it. Easy as pie.
Also gives you the option to reroot afterwards too!

Cool to update this thread, I guess ... since it won't die on it's own. But that method has already be posted IN THIS THREAD in this forum.
I was fairly certain that the fastboot recovery as with all other resets would not wipe the data so I decided to risk it and go for it... All data is in tact. :-)

Sorry for the delayed response ... out playing a gig. Anywho, as you found it ... your data is untouched. Cool, huh?
