Using bootstrap or safestrap does not matter when it comes to flashing with rsdlite it just looks at the kernel and radio and makes sure that you are not downgrading. I would remove your current RSDLite and download the newest version which is 5.7 and try it again.
I am running 5.7. Interestingly enough, if I manually unzip and browse to the .xml file (yes, all 18 files are in the same directory) as soon as I choose the .xml and click open, I receive the error.
My friend flashed his Bionic yesterday using the exact same FXZ file I am.
Crazy.
In Fastboot mode, should all my Device Properties be N/A? Or could that be indicative of the problem?
Hi Eyedea... is that 902 fxz you posted the stock modified version from Timmy10shoes that won't erase data and SD Cards?
No, that fxz will erase sd card and user data.
But I can PM you timmy10shoes file to save data and sd card. Or you can download dfibs link with the modified files already in place.
Let me know.

If you could PM me that stock modified file, i would be very grateful... for some reason i cannot download it from dfibs link. Thanks so much!

This was an issue with my Windows installation. I tried it through a Windows 7 x32 VM on the same machine and it worked perfectly.
Status: 905, rooted Motofail, Safestrap v1.07, Eclipse 3.0 up and running, getting the ICS itch :-)
I am trying to verify the term 'Uncompress and Start Flashing'
I have Drivers installed, RSD 5.7 installed FXZ 902 Zip. Do I unzip FXZ 902.Zip manually and place the unzipped folder on my desktop or does RSD 5.7 unzip it (Uncompress)?

Many thanks,
rsdlite will unzip (decompress uncompress) it for you.
Last time I dl a sbf or fxz file I thought it was just the one file not a folder with a bunch of files. When I opened the fold with rsdlite it only showed the file I needed. Thanks for the quick reply dfib
OK, don't laugh I'm new to the Bionic. I used RSD Lite for flashing my Droid X and have done quite a bit of romming with the X. I am having trouble understanding the downloads for flashing back to .902.
I downloaded the Motorola Device Manager but can"t figure out it's purpose. I have an icon on my desktop but when I click on it all it does is ask if I want to repair or remove the file. Next I downloaded RSD 5.7. I have tried to extraxt the files usiing winrar but can"t seem to find the file that will launch the application.
NOTE: You cannot use any FXZ method to revert from 6.7.235 - If you install .235 leak, it is a one way street - you're on ICS from now on. No reverting to GB.
OK so I wanted to install .232 I was on .223 so I tried to flash back to .902. Everything in RSDLite seems to run fine but at the end after the little dud is out of the box it sticks at the red Motorola Logo and RSDLite says to boot this phone manually. I cant turn the phone off without disconnceting it from the computer and pulling the battery. When I put the battery back in and reboot it sticks at the red logo again.
Any suggestions?
update: was able to get around bootloop by getting into stock recovery and factory resetting

just an fyi if you get through all the steps in rsdlite you can pull the cord and reboot the phone yourself.
I was using the Liberty 2.0 rom, so whatever version that is.
I'm worried, I've been on the boot screen for a long time now. I've had nothing but trouble with modding this phone. It's why I wanted to flash a stock version. I hope my phone isn't hosed.
looks like you used the custom rom modified which is fine. after it is done it can take awhile for it to reboot. if it went through all the steps 19/19 20/20 or 22/22 it is complete. wait a little longer and it should boot up. first time takes the longest.

yes it is this one Stock Modified 5.9.905 (md5 sum f7c66ab368f1be30a1b77ba157b96347)
k, I was just checking because sometimes the zip files dont download correctly and you can easily check by how big the file is and how big it's supposed to be.
If you use the free md5 checker in the beginning of the thread, get the md5 of the file you downloaded and match it to the one I posted you will know it is the right file and it is not corrupt.

just to be clear, since I'm a moron and forgot to backup my internal storage, and since the 902 modified won't flash either, anything I had on my internal storage is now gone forever once I try the regular 905? there's no way to extract that data anymore right?
sorry it is gone. I would have told you to only keep pictures and videos because there is something on your phone that is not jiving with the android system.
