how would I go about getting google play(marketplace) to install on this rom.
It keeps saying not installed after i try and install it from APK's I have found.
note: I dont use the phone, the phones just used via wifi as my mother replaced it recently allowing me to tinker with it and various roms without worry about her getting bent over me changing her phone from what she was use to....
thanks for any help you can give, been wanting to toss some free games on it to play around with(also so she can see that android can be good, my fathers got her convenience that iphones are the only way to go because thats what his coworkers say)
The android market is forever gone, it was replaced with google play. Google maps you have to install yourself.
Oh okay thanks Ryan. You had any issues with the Wifi? Whenever I turn my screen on and try to access the internet it won't connect to the router for about a minute or so. Thanks for the great work though!

Thats a battery saver script, whats happens is when the screen goes off, the wifi goes off. There might be a setting for that in spare parts. Not entirely sure
I finally got around to installing 1.0.0, and I'm pretty impressed so far. As you suggested, rgocal, I left the cache and dalvik-cache alone, and my security key app works just fine. I went with the IceBreaker version, because I like the theming on the status bar icons. However, I switched to the Sense homescreen theme, because the Sense icons look better than the Blur icons. But all that aside, I've gotta say - this version is a substantial speed improvement over 0.8. I dunno exactly what you did to make it that way, but I like it.
I mean, it's so fast, it even makes the Facebook app bearable to use.

You guys have done a great job. It's been a fantastic ride through the beta's with you. Great rom, great support. When I ever do upgrade I'll hope I get lucky enough to see it supported by people as great. Thank you, and bless your endeavors.

Will the Wi-Fi based version be Android 2.3.6 like gingerbreak?
Changes
-removed 3rd party apps and bloatware, kept phandroid and 360 theme
-removed tethering apps, in return, removed shortcuts in settings.
-motorola icons in settings
Now the rest is up to you guys, would you want this or not.
-remove 360 ui? Throw in normal launcher.
-new theme? Or keep original.
-Remove any extra system apks ive added for memory.
-add anything to your liking.
-update anything you see needs attention.
looks like i'm a little late for the party, but i'll jump in anyway.
360 - I actually dont mind it at all, i find it to be smoother than other launchers i've tried so far.
Tehering - cant live without it, but working with pdanet anyway.
Other - Personally i got rid of phandroid, the little bar on the side (forgot the name) and a couple of other apps, but again, not a big deal and easy to remove / add.
On thing: a way to fade / darken the background when using apps would be nice. for example - the music app, if you have any light background its almost impossible to see anything, as everything is written in white. the only way i found around that was changing the background to something that is mostly dark or any colors that dont blend with white.
One more thing to note: is it possible to have the camera button on the side back to normal ? or at least have the option to choose if it's used as an "end" or camera button.
Phone started malfunctioning badly, but then I flashed my back up of your ROM (I was using Velocity 1.2.1) and I'm not going back I think X)
My phone has started doing crazy stuff. The day before yesterday, I would call someone and it would hang on the *Dialing* screen. It wouldn't hang up, keypad wouldn't come up, I kept having to pull the battery...it kept doing this then yesterday it was fine, then today it started the crap back up. Have you seen this happen? I rebooted my phone today and battery gauge went from showing 75% to 4%, had to reboot again to get it to show correct %. I think my phone has gone crazy.

It's interesting that this question goes unanswered...... I've had the same question and got ignored the same way.
decided to root my ally since got upgrade coming in a few months.
One thing i noticed right away Rgocal.
The ally is a slider. but the Bionix homescreen will not rotate, tried turning rotate on and off but still will not rotate. If i go into anything it will rotate just fine but the home screen is locked in long view. Might seem minor but the slider keyboard is the biggest reason i got the ally in the first place and almost always have it open while in use. i love the the ROM and how it performs but this is a deal breaker for me Only other thing i have noticed and this is real minor, the alarm clock sounds are extremely muted when setting an alarm.
hopefully the home view rotate is an easy fix because i'd love to keep the rom.

You could always use a different home launcher (launcher pro, go launcher ex, adw, etc) as for the alarm, try switching the ringtone and alarm volume. It sounds just fine on my ally.
randomally, i will try that. i don't know much about launchers so will have to do some research. hopefully that will resolve my toggle issues as i love the performance on bionix.

In that case, i recommend you use launcher pro. Not so flashy but it's nice and simple to use.
In the patch im working on, it will update the 360 launcher which now supports rotation on the device.
The versions of Bionx i have up run an older version of 360 that needs updated.
When i get to fixing the links,
Il probably be releasing a patch to clear up any future annoyances in bionx.
Right now, im working on updated software for future builds of bionx and hope to include the software in the patch.
Something fresh for people still on their allys.
Altho obsolete, the ally still fun to play with. Il nvr dis it.
