Thanks to Chalky for making zergRush and for helping us get it working on ZTE
And thanks to TGuy for letting me use his phone
Screw you Boost and you're not wanting us to logcat the regular way
Enjoy your rooted ZTE Warp!
I don't mind donations and neither does my bud ShabbyPenguin.

Root means you have near total control over the phone because you have the ability to modify the software and run software that might otherwise not be able to run.
I love this because of adfree. it blocks those resource hungry ads and help my web pages load faster.
thanks again.
Theres blue lol.. How ya been?? looks like things are coming along with the warp with root an all.. Prolly gona grab me one now only if ya theme it for me!!
I've never rooted a phone before
. plz help. I downloaded the file and ran super user, I don't but Wi-Fi features doesn't work and I'm not sure I did It right
Thanks to Inter......also you may want to edit the video because that link is incorrect. The link directs the person who clicks it to their own youtube my video section. An error message pops up saying that the person does not have the right to change annotations.

It almost looks like you're not running the root tool from the right directly. Unzip it, open a DOS shell, change to the directory where it's unzipped, and run it from the command line there.

Im new to rooting and im getting the warp soon and want to have some knowledge on rooting it. So basically, i install the ZTE drivers on my computer. Then i open the WarpDrive.zip and run the .bat file. Once that happens do i have to do anything else? Do i need to install any apps for the root to work?
Thanks
Ooops. Tried to attach the file to this post but apparently it didn't get attached. The download link posted in the first message of this thread by interdpth works for me - just tested it, downloaded Ok.
Go to the superuser app and open it then hit the menu key and choose preferences. Now scroll down to where it says Outdated binary notification and uncheck it.
I try re-rooting but adb does not find the ZTE anymore, as if it would not be connected.
I tried getting the original SU from the WarpFile.zip file to the phone but of course it will not install. I can neither uninstall the new SU. How can I re-root?
Anybody else running on SU 3.0.3 and still rooted? Thanks guys.
Ok the root is done.....now what can I do with it lol......first time I had a phone with root
You can run apps like root explorer and adfree. In general it allows you to use apps that require root user permissions. Try adfree app from the market and you will get the idea of the possibilities. If you play games like angry birds with the ads in them adfree will cut them out.
BTW nice youtube videos. Helped me decide whether or not to get the Warp.

I spoke to a friend of mine who rooted his evo. He said that the rooting was nice, but when his phone went to auto update, the phone went on the fritz, and when he placed the original info back on the phone and unrooted it, the phone updated and was working fine. My question is, how do I make a copy/file of whats originally on my warp, so in case something like that happens, I can just convert it back to factory settings? Im VERY NEW to rooting, and step by step instructions would be great not only for me, but to any other noob that comes along looking for the same info.

I did it as Marke123 said after having the same problem, I now have root. Thank you interdpth and ShabbyPenguin!

Thank you it worked! i am now rooted, you guys are awsome.
It is not working for me. I connected my Warp to my Windows XP system and it installed drivers for the phone. Downloaded the OCR from the first post, opened dos box and changed to the directory that I unzipped it to. I run warpdrive.bat and get this
error: device not found
error: device not found
error: device not found

and it just sits there...
Any suggestions?
I tried the drivers from the first post but they will not install...
Deuce i posted a n00b tutorial in my post above.....i had the same exact error. Follow my video that I made........the issue is you need to right click the download - zte warp.....and click extract here......then click on it. IF your doing what he does in the video posted by the OP that message will pop up
