[GUIDE] Manually update your prl. CDMA Workshop method.
Get CDMA workshop. I cant tell you where to get it.
Get your MSL/SPC code.
Using your dialer dial *983*87274#
Choose "only Diag"
When your computer installs drivers make not of what com port it installed to.
Open CDMA workshop.
Choose port and select connect. Then choose read to make sure.
Go to security tab and where it says SPC input your MSL code then press the SPC button. Then choose send. If it is correct it will tell you.
Now go to "Other" tab and where it says PRL click write. Find your prl file and choose it.
Exit CDMA workshop and reboot your phone.
Once rebooted open dialer again and enter *983*87274# and this time choose "AT" If you dont usb will not work properly.

UPDATE
I just want to say this is the best forum ever...I am cheking ti everyday for new stuff so glad I joined.
But after this post I rooted my warp and I used CDMA workshop to change to the 60683 PRL but I did it last friday after work so I cant tell if my signal has improved where it was sucky at work but in general it has and I noticed that my battery is lasting longer as well...when I get back to work next week will be the real test but so far so good now I just need to try updating my 3g speed...guess I'll makes those changes before the week is out but actually with just changing the prl everything seems faster on the phone...I LOVE IT!

Reason: UPDATE
Maybe a little stupid question here, where can I download this workshop? thanks very much!!
I actually bought it a few years back and lost the key file and then they were crappy to me about getting a new key file so I use a cracked version now. I cant tell you where to get it though.

it works
Thanks Woodstock, I did get it switched with your instructions (fyi, the demo version of cdma ws works, I just renamed the prl you posted to the demo prl file name they had in the prl folder and it took that.
I ran some some speedtests at work and 3g is as fast as if not a little better than normal. I have four bars, which is about normal for work.
the real test will be at home because I live in the boonies and usually don't have very good connection.
So far so good though, I have to think it's going to be better coverage being on a sprint prl.
My results are inconclusive. I work inside a large building with alot of metal and concrete. But outside its working great. Inside its only slightly better at most.
The signal at my house has greatly improved! At first I was at 0-3 bars to 4-6 so pretty much we are getting sprint premium service for half the cost :-)

So your call quality is better, presumably... but what I'm wondering is, will this affect data speeds at all?

Thats great. Im glad it worked for you.

Im not sure it will effect the 3g speeds so much as the signal reception. Of course the better signal the better the 3g though.
For me I would lose signal completely to barely any signal in my office which is in a large concrete and steel building. I am doing only a little better with the Sprint prl but it is better. Not much but it is noticable.
I'm using prl version 60711 and I must say it's going pretty well. I haven't changed my proxy addresses and my home orig vocoder "13k", home page vocoder "wild" and roam vocoder "13k". I'm getting 1604 kbps - 2226kbps down/526kbps - 718kbps up.

Another tip guys,
This really did work for me and i would really like to see if it works for you guys.
Remember in the other post about messing with the VOCODERS
well
I changed mine to
Home Orig. Vocoder- EVRC
Home Page Vocoder- Wild
Roam Orig. Vocoder- EVRC
This improved my 3g speed by like 1/4 mbps more
I played with all possible combinations and i felt like this was the fastest.
I was even getting 1mpbs downloads during congested hours of the day
Interesting... I just ran a few morning early-morning tests using EVRC/EVRC/EVRC and EVRC/Wild/EVRC configurations, here are the results, again in kbps (averages in bold), again using mobilespeedtest.
EDIT: Here's another test with stlouizins config:
5th string: 13k/Wld/13k - 875, 956, 889, 811, 973 = 901
I think it's almost impossible to conclude as there is no way to set a "control," as the network conditions will never be the same twice.
Also, these were all performed on standard Boost PRL. Maybe one of these days I'll be bored enough to find a copy of CDMA Workshop and load a Sprint PRL, and re-test.

Reason: moar testz, editing
After much testing I have the best results here in NC with 60683 prl and changing all vocoders to 4GV. I am averaging around 1140kbps down and 350kbps up at 185ms ping. Not too shabby. Went from a steady 1 to 2 bars inside my home to a steady 3 to 4 bars. Will continue testing as the day goes along.
So is it possible to load the newest prl from the page you showed us? I will go home and try the latest prl later on.
Yes. The latest PRL is 60683. The 60711 PRL has been out since 2008. I would suggest doing as I did and running through the list updating PRL until you find one that suits your needs. There is also another link that gives info on each PRL if you know how to translate the lingo, which I sadly do not. Tech savvy but not that savvy.
You can find info about each PRL by simply searching the PRL number through google. For example google 60683 PRL and you will see posts from XDA, Android Forums and Android Central about that PRL.
I never did this before.....just completed it. How would you go back to what your originally had? Would you just go through your settings and hit UPDATE PRL?

Yes sir. That is exactly what I did after the first few updates. Goes back to the current Boost prl.
i have the newest sprint prl 60750.prl which i am using with great signal strength from 2-3 bars to 5-6 bars simply great
That's great! It says your area has the good conditions to compare these two prl how is the improvement and difference. Keep test your 3g speed please I think more people will like to change boost prl to sprint's.
Changed to 60683, went from 0-1 bars, to 2-3 bars at home. I always get crappy speeds at home, but even with 2 bars I'm getting about 400kbps download, which is over double what I was getting. I don't even know if the signal bars have any effect on data....
Anyway, outside my home I usually get full bars and good speed (1-2mbps) so I will check it out when I get to work.
Uh, holy crap! I just got over 1mbps download speed at home, still only 2 bars. It can't just be coincidence, this must really work. Before the highest speedtest I ever got at home was 300kbps and that was only once.
UPDATE: Shortly after this post my speeds slowed to a crawl, 1x symbol showed up too, for the first time since owning this phone. Got a very interesting speed test though. 80kbps down, 9.9 mbps (?!) up. WTF? Ran it again just to make sure, roughly same results. Back to the drawing board I guess, I'm back in boost prl for now.

OMG...I know he is leaving us but I would really appreciate having those instructions back because I used them to change my PRL and they were so easy to follow...I tested the 60853 or whatever the latest PRL was that came out in Nov 2011 and it was ok, still sucks at my job but recently played around and changed to 60711 and it works a little better at the job, i had no problems elsewhere I just think that one is a better code for me...I would test more if I had the instructions and good PRL's

Strange I wish I could help I don't want to tell you anything that may create more problems but I'm kinda techy...are you using the stock dialer not sure if it makes a difference but its a thought
when i dial the code, *983*87374#, it gives a busy signal.
i tried dialing *983, and it gives me an error saying the code isnt valid, or something like that. tried dialing the rest of the code over the error message, but doesnt do anything.
so whats going on? how am i messing this up?
also, which driver am i looking for to install?.. name? if i miss the port #, where else can i find it?

Thats bizzare. Are you using the stock dialer? You do have a ZTE Warp dont you? Had to ask.
Yeah, its a zte warp on boost mobile. At first, i was using the GOdialer, but when it wasnt working for me, i removed it and went back to stock dialer, but same results. Any ideas?
Wait a minute... i tried it again, and it worked! As soon as i entered the cde into dialer, it popped up a usb switch menu. However, if i pressed the call button, it gave me the busy signal. Whatever... back to it!
