Benchmarking done. Scary gave me the best results. Each governor changes the read ahead. I used antutu to compare. I would recommend that everyone tries it yo get an idea of what each one effects

k thanks but it must be the init.d folder because i tried it with two of your kernels anyways im currently testing warp cream sandwich im not sure if i like it even though it can over clock to 1.6 ghz. Oh and whats the maximum stable frequency you can make a kernel for? I would like to try it out.
Clear cache and dalvik. If not it might be a script in the init.d folder causing an issue.
Side note, 1.7 achieved, along with io schedulers, 1.8ghz in testing
whats the temp like? I can see 1.4 and 1.6 since the sequent is the exact same processor chip and they are pushing it to 1.4ghz. 1.6 is not out of the realm and some of the triumph users have pushed to 2ghz, with some good success depending on the chip, some are much more resilient than others. what sort of voltages are you using? are you up volting or under volting?
While I am new to Android, I am an old hound when it comes to overclocking Pc's the concepts are similar and im concerned about heat and heat disipation as these phones are not exactly designed to move air. consider also if you have a case, adding a case just insulated the phone and holds the heat in. Most people are going to just update for the latest and greatest without thinking and end up frying thier phone.
Device(s): ROOTED! Force with Boost Mobile....yes I said Rooted

thats why we are going through numerous test to push it to its limits.... each speed we reach we not only do a benchmark test but we take it through other test. For me personally i go through high processor using games and apps. We do make sure its safe before release. BTW i also over clock my pc at home and i cant really use a water cooling system with the phone, LOL
Speaking of this, I just thought it was worth mentioning that the official Qualcomm documentation states that our chips are designed to go safely up to 1.4GHz.

lol on my home PC i am running Dual Corsair H70 one for the processor and one for my video card. I think it would be a good thing to see what voltages the sequent is running as a baseline. I am not trying to be a downer or question the testing but I also want to make this is as safe as possible for the masses. OC is a risk period but I guess you guys are trying to find the safest max vs risk. As I said before you guys know a hell of a lot more than me about Android but processors are processors and the laws of thermodynamics are true regardless of what system your talking about.

Heck, I'll gladly take 1.8. An 80% increase over stock? Eff yeah

Btw I posted a 1.4ghz kernel. This was to compete with the warp sequent. I set up the frequencies similar to stock. But with a max of 1.4ghz.
Edit:
I had originally made a naughty comment here about a member of zte here. It was removed because it violated guidelines. So with respect I apologize for misdirecting my frustration at one member when it was honestly directed towards zte.
Can someone on the dev team give me some details on the swap system? I get that it's basically a virtual memory system, but I'm wondering how much extra memory this frees up. Does the system uses a swapfile on the SD card or in the device's built-in RAM? Are there limits as to how much VM space the kernel will allocate? How much of a speed hit does it incur when the kernel has to page in/out apps?
So its back to hunting. After switching ti the 1.7ghz I've got the
Same wifi turning on turning off thing back.
I'm getting sick of build tweaks.
Oh and to those that have read ahead in init.d or .d2 try turning getting rid of it. I'm finding i get slower sd read and wright speeds with it and the new oc
Thanks for doing 1.4 version was going to request one

Ya once you get up to higher speed it starts effecting everything. But you should use an app to switch the governor to scary or interactivex. It changes the read ahead

I've noticed. I'm having to rip my Rom a new one to get everything working with these new oc kernels.
Still trying to knock out my wifi not fully connecting issues. All three further I'm getting is to authenticate and then disconnect.

Pm me the build prop. Like I said, I've seen this issue and it was fixed with a stock prop. Did you start your rom yourself? Could you have permissions or missing symlink issues? Scratch that, pm me a update script and build prop
Well I have been running oc 1.7 for about 5 hours of heavy continuous use. And my battery temp hasn't gone over 102°F and most of the time its at 99°F. I have been running it wide open set on smartassV2 and noop on n00b VI. This is awsome.
lines from init.rc then the newb ROM builders using it won't have to worry about patching the stock ROM for data and we can just delete ext4check.sh and forget that ever happened.

Im havi g problems with the data and 3G for some reason. Its only with one app however. Its whatsapp messenger. It wobt update or send or receive messages. I have wiped data on it. Wiped cache and dalvik cache. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Just weird
1.7 is Max oc anything over is unstable dangerous and unusable. Phone will either freeze force reboot of not boot at all. That's why I limited it to 1.7 on my kernel. By the way nice job down you made it alot further then I did. Major props on that and this will be included in beta 4 and my stable release. But imma change the splash image lol. Call it glitch kernel by downthemachine.!

So I have been running this kernel on my phone for a few days now. And I have had 2 issues. The first is at my phone gets quite hot at 1.6 and that was only running my navigation. so I turned it down to 1.4 and it seems to be a little better. the second issue is that I cannot turn my wifi off now. I turn it off and it just pops right back on after a little bit which isn't really a big deal because no I'm not losing service.. I didn't really have any issues before with the other oc kernel except wifi and losing my service. Now it seems I am still having wifi issues but at least I'm not losing any service.. other than that my phone is running great and super smooth it benchmarked at 4106.

Any information? Like what rom you're running, what settings you're using?
So that 1.4 is the same build as the 1.7 with just the lower cap? I only run at 1.4 even with the 1.7 as id rather not overload the recomended max setting untill the phone is a bit older so would the 1.4 be a better choice
Im now on the 1.4 oc.... much snappier response upped my vellamo score by 100 points for html5 and metal both. Im using no frills with the ondemand gov and cfq i/o. ... i still need to do some reading on the schedulers before i start playing with it. Anyone know a good temp gauge i can d/l? I like my zte warp "prequel"
Edit: cant find a cpu temp app that actually works.... but my batt temp has not gone over 41 deg celcius under load

I know this might sound weird but my phone runs cooler overclocked. lol

Try an app called cool tool it has many functions and a very low memory footprint.
You may have to google it then go to play store. The play store search function is crap.
