Notsure Stock ROM for the Breakout

I have a Pantech Breakout that I rooted manually using zergrush. Everything was running fine.....

Now it gets stuck in the sound initialization stage of boot.

So if someone could do a nandroid backup of MTD:Boot and MTD:System and post those images, I would greatly appreciate it.

Or some other img dump... either compatible with the custom recovery posted here or compatible with fastboot.

I much appreciate your timely help. Thank you

I've very handicapped with my phone out of order. So please, if you have those files for the Pantech Breakout, post them.

Hey Amanda, my wife has a Breakout and I can see if I can pull them if you would like. I also started developing a Clockwork Mod Recovery for the Breakout, but don't know what kind of interest there is for this phone. If you still need it just let me know!!!

Default i can also use the stock recovery image

Hey MTM, I could use the stock recovery image also. I made a recovery backup before i rooted with SuperOneClick and the Zergs. I saved the image on my HD of my desktop.,,about a week ago, that HD died. Last night, I began having problems with the phone. Something is wrong with the google modules. I can't access the market via the widget. I can't access my gmail from it, or my contacts. Any time I try any of these, I get an error code, or just a white screen flash, and back to home screen.

I am hoping that a stock recovery can fix all this. i am a noob at this, so I need to know what program would be best used to restore it,as well.

Thanks,
Andrew

copy the backup image to your computer, and try to reinstall in through fastboot mode, maybe?

If you can get us a copy, one of us can figure it out.

Just out of curiosity, how did you root? SuperOneClick? You might be able to root it again and get past your troubles, giving you the chance to reinstall backup assistant.

Default b_sytem.img

ok guys just got done uploading the backup of the system to mega upload should be around 600 mb, it is a img file but i would not reccomend trying to flash it, i only created it as a img file so i could upload it in one go... heres the link
b_systemi.iso
609.6 MB
www.megaupload.com/?d=8SLQ4G7Q

you will need to extract the files from the img file, hopefully it helps

i did use superoneclick and to tell you the truth i believe it is still rooted, the only thing i did was a system wipe....so it should still have the root...the problem lies within the setup, unfortunately it will not let me get past the setup screen...hard to explain..i found a somewhat bypass which allows me to access the web browser but i cant get the internet to work...if only i could get that working i could just side load the apk file and be done with it lol...alas things arent that simple for me...

Ok, so i downloaded the iso, extracted it, and copied the files to a folder on my sdcard. How do I migrate those files into my phone's system?

Yeah, but from there, I have no idea what to do. Probably best if I just pay off my verizon contract and get a boost mobile phone...lol If I do, It will remain stock. I have screwed this one up to where all I can do is get into fastboot mode, or if I try to just power it on, it freezes on the boot screen.

I don't think so. Everyone seems to like CWM, so I thought I'd give it a shot...I searched everywhere...I have yet to find a CWM for the breakout. Would any other Gingerbread rom work?

Give me a little time to finish a Rom I'm building on another phone and I will see what I can do for you. Do you have the amon ra recovery already?

Ok, I just found out that I can issue commands from command prompt console. I can at least cause it to reboot, so i should bee able to flash a recovery img to it, right? Now, i just need a recovery img to tests.

Yeah, definitely a candidate for target practice tomorrow. I found a recovery dump and tried to flash it, but it just causes BSOD on my laptop. Tried 3 times, with the same result. It's just a paperweight now. i won't be doing any modding on my next phone, that's for sure.

have you tried 'adb install file.apk' ? I assume you'd need the file in the same directory with adb.

You can only push .img's with fastboot, but you can use adb. If it is a system app that you are trying to push, a simple push command will not work though, so use this, and make sure whatever .apk you are trying to push is in the same folder as adb.

Code:
adb push whatever.apk /sdcard/whatever.apk

adb shell

$ su

mount system here. Don't know the partition so can't tell you atm

# cat /sdcard/whatever.apk > /system/app/whatever.apk

Make sure USB debugging is on, pull down notification bar, select USB mode, choose mass storage should be good.

Unfortunately I can't do that my problem is I removed. Backup assistance. And now the phone will not let me get past the setup screen so I have no access to anything in the phone....that is why I needed to push the apk. To the phone, otherwise I would have just sideloaded the apk. File

Can you boot into recovery? Adb works in recovery also. You could also try to do the 4 corner touch trick to get out of the setup screen.

yes i can still boot into recovery so thank god for that but adb still is not finding the device..im beginning to think i might have the wrong software installed or something would you be able to provide a copy of the adb client that you are using including the pantech drivers? and as for the four corners thing with the pantech it just goes straight to lock screen then device setup it says choose language english or spanish i select english and hit next and then it says backup assistant not installed and will not let me proceed any further...its sort of frustrating because the phone works great and there really isnt anything wrong with it other that it not having the backup assistant....

Best way is in IRC that way I can walk through it with you. I saw you had joined for a few minutes. Come back into the room and say my name and it should buzz me. I will pass it to you in there.

I have actually created an all in one package that we will go through together. It is made to be as simple as possible for the install of both root and recovery. It includes the fastboot drivers and everything!

I don't know if there is not many owners of this phone yet, or just not much excitement with nothing out there yet. I am willing to put some time into development of this phone as long as I know there are those that will use it. My wife has the phone and doesn't care about me working on it one way or another. I enjoy tinkering and modding, I just want to be sure it will be used. I have a rom that I am building for it, Cwm working 100% including USB mass storage, and pulled the kernel source last night. Just let me know if there are some users out there to use it lol!

Sounds good! I will see if I can't get the recovery install method going a little better. I am trying to work around not using fastboot as the drivers can be a pain to deal with.
