Last month I bought a Samsung Captivate and today I got a message prompt to update my software (android 2.1) so I did. Once after clikcing the button, my phone is completely dead. I dont know what to do. I bought it from online site. How to fix my phone. Thanks in advance for your ideas to bring back my phone alive.

welcome to the forum and sorry for what has happened. When you turn the phone on, what happens? Also have you performed any hacks, rooting or anything at all to the phone prior to the update crash?

It sounds like you have the OTA brick issue. If you bought your phone new and have not hacked it in any way, including rooting your phone, you may want to call AT&T, find a local warranty center and have the phone replaced.

this happened to mine and i had to send it back to samsung, took me about a week to get a new one in
