i am willing to give away my moto droid 1 for successful step by steps for 2.2 to 2.3 on my captivate for att. i have tried all the stuff read here, then finally found a thread somewhere saying if you have a new captivate it will brick the phone. now i tried odin=fail and the seemingly simple just copy update.zip to phones internal storage and reinstal=fail. is it poss to do this to build 1108 (07.12.2011) of samsung captivate??? as of right now my droid 1 smokes this new phone i have (dissapointment). captivate should score way higher and just plain beat the pants off of my moto droid 1. moto droid1 has 2.3.4 and running at slower speeds (800mhz-600mhz) beats my new captivate. ss/cm
please help w/step by step for idiot!!!

I don't know if you still need this, but I own a Captivate build 1108 and I've bricked it a couple times trying to update...I tried to use the odin oneclick but it only bricked it again so I had to find another method.
After I unbricked it i Had android 2.1 but i wanted 2.2. And I found a video where it showed how to install 2.3.
