Default Captivate taking too long to boot

Hi guys! My Captivate has been acting up lately. It seems that the problem may have started from me disabling the media scanning option through the start up manager. But, I reenabled it and what is happening is that when I turn the phone on, the Galaxy S logo flashes for a good 2-3 minutes, followed by 2-3 vibrations and a black screen, which is succeeded by the media scanner and after 5 more minutes, the phone finally asks for my pin. I don't know why it is doing this. I tried clearing the cache but the problem persists. Thanks for reading and any suggestions would be welcome .

Would someone be able to help me with this? I would really appreciate it since I am still having the boot problem.
