"Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file"

I keep getting this error message when I try to play my audio files. My biggest concern is that the ringstones I have created don't play either. I though that it was my sd card that had an issue, but the phone still reads all my picture files. The only thing I can find that solves this issue is a reboot, but I don't want to keep having to do that. I have also done a factory reset and that problem still persists.

Any ideas on what's causing this and any possible solutions?

For me, the problem was that the media scanner has not scanned the MP3 files. A reboot fixes the problem.
