Mad Announcement of "New Message Arrived"

Hi All,

Every time I start up my Samsung Captivate 2.3 it reads "New Message Arrived" even though I have no new messages, no new emails and no missed calls. I thought maybe it was an app but have cleared most of my apps one at a time to see if it made a difference but I still get this annoying voice every time I re-boot???

Anyone else having the same problem? Does anyone know of a fix? Driving me nuts

Thanks in advance,
LRD

Hello LRD. If your messaging and/or email apps are configured to give notifications, it may be worth a try to uncheck those selections and then go into the application manager and clear cache and data on them both, then reboot. You'll have to reconfigure, of course, but it may be worth the trouble to "wash out" the issue.

Another option is to uninstall any 3rd party messaging/email apps and try stock if you're not already on the stock apps.

Factory data reset as last resort.
