I wish we had been forgotten by Casio and Verizon.
I think if they had left all of us out on the 2.2.1 limb, all parties involved would have been better off. Casio and Verizon would have saved a bunch of money as well.
It is just called Videos. It plays the videos you have on your phone/sd card. I downloaded MX Video and it is comparable with quality. It also shows the videos you rented or available to rent.

I'm wondering if this app will work on the Casio Commando. I have frozen Inopath, the commando's OTA updater app, but others who did not have it frozen have lost their root.

I would not reccomend getting the update. My biggest downfall is that when you hold the power button to turn the commando into airplane mode, it gets blocked by the stupid PPT program. So therefor now i cannot put my phone into airplane mode.. THIS SUCKS

do you have custom recovery installed?
do some nandroid backup
Got my M100 today. Of course the PTT and the new google MUSIC app's were listed under the running apps screen so I shut them down. They'll restart (I'm sure) the next time I power off/on. They should at least give us the option to move this unwanted stuff to the SD!
I shut down everything I didn't want running. then went into Market and all the Verizon apps, i unchecked to do auto update. then i uninstalled all the updates that I didn't want. It freed up alot of memory and made the phone run alittle better. Now, just DON'T shut the phone off. If you do, just force close everything again. Most things stay closed.
Coot, I don't know how the update is interfering with the long press power for airplane mode function... Are you actually using the ptt function currently? I got the update loaded several days ago and my long press function works flawlessly.
I updated and now I am frustrated because I accidentally pushed the PPT app and now it is a constantly on-going app. It is always in the notification menu and every time I try to go force stop it restarts the phone. I don't have the PPT service so every time I go into the app it just checks for service and then it tells me I don't have one...thanks but I don't need a whole app to stay ongoing just to tell me it is not connected!!!
Seriously Verizon has to pull its head out of its ass and stop overloading our phones with shit that we don't need or have little control over. I am seriously looking into rooting now....this phone is not bad, Verizon is making it bad!

Man after the last update and I lost root I said the f with all that having to re root everytime. This round of updates download, but won't install. I was worried I"m missing out. Now I'm glad it didn't work, but the thing keeps trying to update and it is annoying.

Just freeze innopath. ... and yeah this update blows. The ptt is awful, and there's nothing else worth mentioning. I think they just did it to break zergrush, and the rest is window dressing. ..
I have Innopath frozen and use Tikl as my PTT. So far it works well and I can use it on the job to talk to my guys using Tikl.
I do not plan to update until SOC can root the phone after the update.
I'm happy with the way my phone is now (rooted, GO EX Pro) in version 2.3.3. with all the stuff I need.
Dont really need a larger 3G image or the PTT, but love having a rooted phone that I can play with!
Have patience young Jedi, we will break in in due time!

You may need to enable it on the account (its free, who cares?) so you can control it and then you can disable it. It will probably always be on your phone but if it is disabled you can then reassign your tactile key.
Unlike what looks like everyone else on this forum I use VZW PTT for work & this version is the best of all the VZW PTT phones I have had.

I am in the same boat as yugostud1 but when I go into my verizon account and go to turn on the PTT it says I have to pay $5 a month for it. As if the added bloatware wasn't enough now I have this crap PTT app sucking battery and memory and my side button.

Yes, it will say it's $5, because it is...
After you apply it, look at your discounts. It will say 100% off Push To Talk. When you initialize the PTT app, it appears the app will continue to try and authorize with the account. Poor design? Probably. Once it sees that its authorized you will then be able to turn it off and switch your tactile key back to something you want. I experimented with this by turning off the PTT, then going to settings>personalization>tactile key. I was able to switch the tactile key to whatever and it worked as it should. As soon as I turned the PTT back on, the tactile key went back to being the PTT button.
What it boils down to is if you don't want the PTT, don't open the app. Too late for you, I know, but maybe others will see this thread and be warned. Perhaps it is a way to artificially inflate the number of PTT subscribers. As a PTT user I am impressed with the UI. It is the best by far version of VZW PTT so far. The service is what it is - like it or hate it it's better than Sprint's Qchat but will probably never be as good as Nextel's iDEN.

OTA Rootkeeper does not work. I had it on my phone, and it did not help. I wish I had left Inopath frozen, but I wanted to try PTT. NOT WORTH IT!!!! If I cant root this thing again soon, I will be looking for a different phone. WAY too much bloat crapware. Ram is a precious commodity, ya know?

Thanks for testing this out. I'm glad I did not attempt this. I'm still on the M070 update. I really wanted the M080 because supposedly the proximity sensor was fixed. My phone will hang up on people because my cheek touches the screen in the middle of a phone call and hit the hang up button on the screen. Gay.
Yeah the m80 is fine... if anyone can tell me how to attach a file to a post, I can put up the scripts I fiddled with so you can flash stock or gnm recovery at will... that's how I got the m80 update. Kind of a pain, but nice to have the prox sensor fixed...
in the "go advanced" section for replying, there is a setting down in "additional options that says "manage attachments" or you could upload it to mediafire.com and copy and past the link to it
side note, i'm still running m050 haha, kickin it oldschool

I did the same thing and couldn't get the PTT to turn off. Then I pushed the tac key and it opened the GUI for PTT. I then hit the menu key and there is an option to disable PTT in the options.
I have never used ptt before, and I would like to try it with my son who has a Rock. Does anyone know if they are compatible? tia
I've been PTTing with Convoyes, Ravines, Rocks, Boulders, Adventures, Brigades, and Blackberries since the update. Thats the advantage of the Commando's PTT vs. all the other PTT apps. It is the only one that you can PTT other VZW PTT phones. All of them, other than a couple of model Blackberries are basic phones and the BBs won't run Tikl or Voxer either.
This is depending on your son having PTT active on his phone.
I am very mad and disappointed. This update took an okay phone and turned it into a total peice of crap. It crashes alot more often, apps come back w/ a force close 'cause something isn't responding, data transfers seem slower, wireless is worse, pretty much everything. Stuff lags super bad. Sometimes the phone won't even unlock. It is now a TOTAL POS UUGH! Add to that the recent interest in rooting seems to have been squashed now because of this update. What a bunch of crap. I wish I could raise hell and get some money back for anything other than this phone. Its not like I am asking a lot from this phone, I have downloaded literally 3 apps. WTF. Thanks for nothing Verizon, shove your PTT.

Sorry about that! I guess you did not get a chance to read over all the posts about the crappy update? I made sure to freeze Innopath to prevent the automatic update. Glad I did! Still running M080 and do not plan any update at all until the M100 update can be rooted.
I even just loaded a new iPhone keypad to use. Rooting is the best!

That was not the intent. I spent weeks reading and reading about rooting and how to do it, what to remove and when and if to update. I tend to let others figure it out, and find all the pitfalls. Then I am very cautious.
I'm the same guy that waits a year to buy a car until they work out all the bugs.
Well i guess i was lucky, Innopath was NOT frozen on my phone yet the update did not take ! So until this can be rooted again Innopath will be frozen and i'll hold onto my rooted-ness! Still on M80 here also! Any ideas why the update would DL then fail to install?

It likely failed because you removed one of the apps that only rooting allowed you to do.
I would guess that you are stuck; no update possible on that phone.
I know I am stuck and I have no problem with that. Wish I had stayed with 2.2.1.
