[ROM] 9/29 - CleanROM *Developer Edition* - Perfomance and Style!
A ROM designed for performance with a touch of class!
You MUST read posts #2 and #3 before flashing! There is important info in those threads!
This is a ROM that is CleanROM based and has a similar feature set but includes some special features that I choose to run on my personal phone such as custom overclocked kernel and a light theme.
Features
OS: Gingerbread 2.3.4 Deodexed
Kernel: Bcblend 2.6.35.14 v.03 with capacitive light dimming and always on notification led recompiled by mWalt2! SOURCE
Clock Speed: 1.62 GHZ with options to go to 1.2GHZ (Factory default) or insane speeds of 1.78GHZ! Warning: Not all devices will run 1.78GHZ so use with caution!
Governer: Ondemand via Virtuous Daemon. Do not use SetCPU!
Theme: Custom Dev Edition Theme. Transparent Non-Paginated Rosie, Transparent Pulldown, Sprint Lover Icons with Version N Battery, and Custom Font
ROM Updater: Included and compatible with all CleanROM Mods
Apps: ES File Explorer, DSP Manager, Fast Reboot
Tethering: WiFi Tether 3.0-B4 for 3G / 4G Tether, Sprint Hotspot for 3G wireless and wired tether.
Tweaks: Panoramic Camera, HTC Music with Beats Audio, Many Performance Tweaks.
You must read the instructions HERE to use ROM Updater!
Notes
Some apps such as Visual Voice Mail will display black text on the pulldown making it hard to read. If this is bothersome use the standard pulldown in the ROM Updater.
Thanks to:

mWalt2
Beta Team: brol1k, F_K3NT_D, Newboyx, lrod0175, AZ FadeOut and many others!

The ROM is set at a default of 1.62GHZ with Ondemand governing. This provided the best match of performance and battery life. After you have flashed the ROM there will be 3 ZIP files labled 1.2GHZ, 1.62GHZ and 1.78GHZ in the CleanROM folder. You can flash these in recovery to easily adjust the CPU frequency. Please note all devices may not be stable at 1.78GHZ.
I dont recommend using any overclocking tool such as SetCPU as the clock is controlled by the Virtuous OC Daemon. Using SetCPU could lead to undesirable affects. Let Virtuous do its thing!
Nice bro, and glad you posted back in this section, great work
Indeed. What I decided to do was use my developer forum as more of an announcement forum. The threads in there will be put up as place holders to redirect people to the appropriate forum.

Technically.... Its not a custom boot screen, lol. Its the default Android boot screen by Google
Here are the blue icons. I think you can drag and drop it into systemui.apk, although I've been using GingerScript. The color isn't perfect but it's close enough for me. blue systemui.rar
I flashed your cleanrom and want to try this one. There is a new step I am unfamiliar with. The third step "Disable Signature Checking!". I am not sure how to do this or exactly what it means. I see Zip Signature Verification in the recovery menu and it isn't checked but I'm not 100% sure that is the same thing. I would rather ask a possible dumb question before I screw up my phone than after its a brick.

Reason: more info
Is there an easy way to change the color on the overscroll indicators? They're neat, but the colors are just 'off' and I'm kind of picky. Otherwise I've been a big fan of your ROMs!

Yeah,
Look at some of the other oversrolls in ROM Updater, I have 6 colors to choose from.
Take framework-res from ROM and find the overscrollxxxx.png files and color them to your liking then place them back in the apk and flash it as a flashable zip.
Take the framework-res.apk and go here: UOT Kitchen. Kitchen Pick the color you want and then upload that file and wait for it to spit out a flashable zip.

I keep getting SU force closes with Titanium. Any idea what may be causing this? I've tried clearing the app data on SU, which seems to help for a bit but inevitably I get another FC.
Here are the overscroll PNGs. This is NOT a flashable zip, but you can copy the PNGs into your framework-res.apk file located in system/framework. Restart and wipe dalvik. light blue overscroll.zip
Here is my systemui.apk file. I think I left it alone besides changing the 3g/signal colors so you should be able to just push it onto your phone. SystemUI.apk

Thanks for the files! And I am not sure on TI Back up. Uninstall it, Clear it from SU then try re-installing it.

As scrosler said, thanks for the files. Now this rom feels more "uniform"

Yeah, this is part of the next ROM, hands down.
One last question.... Could you make it closer to the hugh that I have for MY blue overscroll? Could you theme the signal and 3G and wifi, etc that color blue instead of the softer blue? Oh and do you know how to color Rosie.apk and Fusion.apK too?

If not no biggie. But if so let me know...
I can take a look. I will be kind of busy this week with tests, though, but we'll see.
This rom is running smooth as hell but I can't seem to get benchmark numbers anywhere near the ones that you posted. Quadrant shows between 2000-2500 and cf-bench put it somewhere around the atrix and nexus s.

Because to achieve those benchmarks you have to clock it all the way out to 1.78GHZ. Disable anything that could be running in the background and to be safe I also put it in Airplane mode, lol

I see the same thing. Running stock w/ netarchy, I was able to score higher than the SGSII. On pure stock, the phone is on par with the Sensation. On this ROM, I'm scoring pretty low; below the Atrix.
Nothing out of the ordinary running in the background (System Panel, QuickSSHd, which have been present since my Evo 4G days and have never caused issues with benchmarks in the past).
Anyhow, I'm not too concerned. Just curious what's going on.

Help me out: Sign up with Dropbox and we both get 250-500MB extra space. Thanks!

Hmmm... Not sure? You can see my benchmarks and there are people who have topped me even! Did you clock it to 1.78? BTW: This next statement is not aimed at you....
Can we please keep the thread on topic? Cancelling service and disbled WiFi have no business in this thread and will only lead to further confusion for other people. Thank you for respecting that!

Off-topicness fixed.
benchmark results on 1.78 were not much improved. CF-bench puts me right where stock 1.2 would. If stock 1.2 scores better than cleanROM 1.6, clearly it's not the clock speed that's the problem. wonder what's conflicting on my phone.
I noticed a quirk that I actually care about today. I was streaming music via BT in my car, and every 2 min, there would be a hiccup. Never happened on a previous cleanROM or stock. I suspect this is a kernel issue. I experienced the exact same issue with MIUI on my Evo 4G last year.
BTW, the notification bar page could be a bit darker. it's a bit hard to read when there's text underneath. Basically needs a bit more opacity. Or even better, make it configurable.
hope this is all taken as constructive criticism; my aim is just to give you a heads up. Definitely appreciate the work you put into your releases
