Have you tried booting back into recover, not using Rom Manager as I don't like using an app for these things, and clear cache and Dalvik again and reboot, report back

And you did say you did a data clear, you did do a factory reset before flashing the rom from cleanrom ??

You probably have to reflash the kernel as well as doing a dalvik and cache wipe.

Why would you say that he never flashed a Kernel and is on HBoot 1.4, I think if I read correctly he simply did a cache and data wipe, unless I did not read correctly

I don't know if you need to remove recovery just relock. Once you update you might have to reflash your recovery though. Is it not letting you take the ota and you already relocked?

Or flash the RUU 2.17.651.5. The RUU is listed in the All Things Root guide sticky at the top of this forum.

The server is having issues with the file. In the MeanROM XDA thread, there's a link to someone's DropBox that has 1.8. I guess the download wasn't fixed, yet.

Sorry I haven't report back but I live on the boondocks and I don't have Wimax at home, so I con only test it at work wich by the way I work like a mile away from where the Wimax coverage ends so the connection is really spotty. I mostly get 0-1 bars at best if I get any reception.

Anyways I tried wimax again on Friday and today and it works now without any additional clearing of the cache and dalvik, and by the way I did a factory reset between clean room and mean room. Thanks for the help.

Doesn't Leedroid tweaks have a battery mod to convert it into a normal style? I'm on the official CM9 from toastcfh, otherwise I'd confirm for you.

I have a question. I never took the OTA or updated in any other way to 2.08.651.3 (not sure that I even took the one for 2.08.651.2) however I'm running viperROM 2.1.1 right now and in 'About Phone' it says my Build Number is 2.08.651.3 so I'm assuming that's because of the ROM I'm running? My question is, can I just flash Freeza's AIO and then flash MeanROM or do I have to flash something for 2.08.651.3 first and then Freeza's AIO?

I'm on hboot 1.4 btw.

You can flash freeza's AIO zip and then go right into recovery and flash MeanROM. Make sure to wipe cache/dalvik after flashing firmware, which should be standard practice for flashing a new ROM, anyways.

@jerofld
I was actually planning on doing a factory reset before flashing the new ROM. I thought that was the best way to do it since I'm not just going to a newer version of the same ROM but rather switching to a different ROM, even though its still based on Sense 3.0. If I do a factory reset will it interfere in any way with the new firmware or delete it?

Awesome! Will have to download this then.

DonB, my AP2 712s came in yesterday and naturally I can't stand the grips the guy had on them. Had the White Pures which are way too sticky for me. Now i have to get them regripped before I can even go hit them.

Any chance someone can post the version of Leedroid that I would need for this ROM? I've been reading over on XDA but it seems to loop you through the GSM & CDMA threads and I'm about to run off to class.

xda-developers - View Single Post - [MOD +OTA] 01.02.2012 Leedroid Tweaks CDMA v4.0.3 -Redownload OTA Tweaks PLS! =)

It's in the third post of the thread that you're looping around in. I am fairly certain that it will screw up your status bar if you're on MeanROm 2.0 or higher...Whenever he started tweaking the CPU settings. So make sure you NAND backup before flashing it.

Hmmm. I can live with this battery indicator, I thought it was that solid white circle that I've seen on others. Thanks for the info though, no wonder I wasn't seeing the download. Scroll past second post..duh

The OP warns about flashing kernels, in the all in one thread here, one of our cats said he was using anthrax with this.

Two questions - can I oc to 1.5 GHz somehow, and does this support looping devices?

The downside of our forums doubling in size - I can't keep up on my own stuff!

Thanks!

Edit and ps - ok, reading through the XDA thread for this covering the last few days, I think that I'm getting clearer on the kernel updating. No substitute for the source.

No spinning carousel! I'm going to miss that when I am bored. From what I've seen he says no kernels for this, correct? I'd like to get this baby up to 1.5GHz but I didn't think it was possible on this ROM.

Read through the last two days of posts there, stuff we ought not discuss here due to privacy issues on the kernel site login.

1.5 GHz is happening with the kernel change as linked / discussed as mentioned, and...

AnTuTu hitting 6600, Quadrant hitting 4000 (with class 10 sd card, and I still couldn't care less about Quadrant ).

I seem to recall that the carousel may be restoreable? For that performance, I'll live without it if I must. The carbon fiber notification bar definitely looks like it can be restored to stock.

I am going for this when I have time, no question.

If it's as good as they say, I doubt that I will care about ics for some time.

Now the experiment - anthrax wants to be installed with TWRP for best results, I use CWM.

Can. Not. Wait.

No issues?

I'll be clearing everything first. I have done so much tinkering that my data and xbin areas are looking like like victims.

Just came by on the right day while planning a clean slate. Wish I could get to this tonight, will be a few days.

Really curious to see how the onscreen battery performance goes.

No issues, and make sure you give it a couple of days to settle in.

That's maybe worthy of a note in the sticky or somewhere. I give every change several days before deciding anything or tinkering, in general.

I have always thought that slow and steady wins on custom mods.

Has the AnthraX kernel been updated to fix the camera? I actually reverted back to an older ROM just to have Rev 013 kernel again.

@jerofld the camera works fine for me. I'm using the 2.17 RLS 57 test kernel and MeanROM 2.5, for now. No problems at all so far and I'm consistently getting Quadrant scores of 3650+ and as high as 3748, even tho I know benchmarks don't really mean anything. On just MeanROM I only got 2968.

@m0bstr see about halfway down this post. Worked for me when I started a thread asking the same question.

If your on hboot 1.5 you will need to relock bootloader to install updates. That is the downfall of hboot 1.5 no flashing radios.

Just flashed Anthrax on MeanROM v2.6. I will say updating this ROM every time he updates is annoying because i like the Swype Beta so I have to go through and delete the stock Swype data before I can flash the Beta without having issue son a reboot.

Anyways, I'll report back on the Anthrax kernel. Thanks again Early! Navigating the username and password was a pain on that site since I could not switch back and forth between tabs to get the username and password.

If you flashed only the radio and PRI firmware, then you will need to flash a 2.17 rom. If you had the full package, the rom ought to have updated, so, not sure.

Yeah that freeza's all in one doesn't update the firmware version. That's part of the reason I sent u to my thread. It gives the instructions and the file u need to update the firmware along with how to do it after doing the all in one. It's pretty simple. Just read the while post I linked to above or read the whole thread if need be. It's there.
