Default The SDK - finally coming? Maybe yes!

Looks like the logjam for getting new apps - the finalizing of the SDK - is about to break free.

SDK looking closer - xda-developers

neo4uo at XDA said he received this email -

Quote:
The Chromecast team is hosting a two-day hackathon for developers to test-drive the upcoming release of the Google Cast SDK. Our engineers will be available to share changes from the developer preview, discuss best practices, and answer any questions.

Event Details:
Date: December 7-8, 2013
Location: Googleplex, Mountain View, CA

Registration is a two-step process. Anyone can register, but as we can only accommodate a limited number of attendees, priority will be given to those developers who have experience with the Google Cast Preview SDK. Please sign up before November 25, 2013.

Thanks for your support!

No updates to the developer's pages or their blogspot.

Looks like we got the news early thanks to neo4uo!

I thought this hackathon email was too little too late. I shelved all my Chromecast work since Google won't give any timeline for the Cast SDK. In the meantime, I took all the code I wrote for Chromecast and built a completely new app around it and just released in Google Play: CLOUDCAST.

More info in my app announcement page: Cloudcast vs. Chromecast!

Hope you find it useful and get some ideas for your Chromecast apps!

Cheers!

Can't believe there's no news coming out from the hackathon.

Meanwhile - ESPN is planning its own -
