Hi Martimus..I'm interested in the nook, but I have some really basic ?s. Sorry..I'm definitely a newbie with tablets and with rooting. From what I can see it is a real advantage to root the Nook. I would probably use it as an ereader more than anything else, but I'd definitely like to have the freedom to use it as a tablet, etc..
Just so I understand..a few ?s:

It now functions basically as a typical tablet, and can load android apps as I choose?
Assuming the first question is true I can load whatever ereader soft?..kindle, barnes and noble etc?
Browse the net, use netflix, youtube, etc?

How is the battery life?..does it sleep with CM7..I've heard that is a bug?
Any major bugs I should know about?
Could I load the original software if I got tired of playing?..I'm a fairly advanced pc user..just new to rooting..

Thanks, and sorry for so many ?s!!

Tony

With CM7 loaded the TP functions as an Android tablet. The only quirk I've found with it was that Bluetooth worked more reliably if you enabled it right after booting the tablet.

To be honest I've never had an issue with this tablet sleeping. I've left the tablet unplugged and sitting on a stand for several days at a time. When I'd awaken the tablet it hadn't exhausted it's battery. That's more than I can say of my Droid X which runs an official version of Android.

In terms of the original software, yes you should be able to load a Barnes & Noble provided Android image back onto the tablet. I recall seeing a stock image floating around on the Internet a while back. It might have been one of the early images but it would still get you back to a starting point.

Ok, that sounds good...I've never used a tablet before but I think I would prefer to have full access to the android market as opposed to being limited by Nook anyways... I'll use it mostly as a reader but I want access to other apps and the ability to do netflix etc..

Thanks again for the info..I'm going to research a bit more this afternoon but I'm very interested. Do all Nook Color devices come with 8 gig?..once CM7 is installed how much space is usable?

If you don't mind..shoot me your paypal addy. I want to look a little more this pm, but If I decide to go with the nook color I'd like to pay later tonight..

Thanks!
Tony
