Yes that is correct. I'm currently on it right now on tmobile. I don't know if it'll work with Verizon though.

Just to clarify if the device is registered to T-Mobile it probably cannot be ported over to Verizon...legally

Registered? It is an unlocked device from china.
To my knowledge verizon does not use sim cards...

Just from my own research, it will probably work on AT&T in addition to T-Mobile at HSDPA speeds. I know it won't work on Verizon because they use CDMA radios while AT&T, T-Mobile, and most of the rest of the world use GSM-type radios.
