I got tired of waiting for Motorola's promises of an update to 2.1 (already outdated but whatever) so I bought and am really enjoying a Samsung Vibrant. Still, I think the Moto Cliq XT is a very solid, well built little phone. There are quite a few things that I think are better than my Vibrant, such as battery life, notification led, flash for camera, and better call quality.

I'd really like to see this thing with Froyo, but I'm kind of surprised to see the complete lack of interest in this phone from the rom developers. Were the sales of this phone THAT bad? Is there any hope left at all that this phone will ever see a custom rom?

I feel the same way. I had got a myTouch, but felt it was a little too much on the custom built candy, so I traded in back in for a Cliq Xt. I did not realize the differences between each updatedd system, and find I am stuck with a old version because Moto is dropping the ball on releases and thi thing has all this motoblur crap on it, and there are a dozen apps that I can not remove from the factory. I am searching for a way to just add a stock android system with out the advert laden promotional eye candy crap. urghhh..... as much as this phone wass, I might just return it and get a old school nokia flip phone.......
