Default C771 Drivers

Here are the usb and abd drivers for the commando. Use with SuperOneClick to root. It's a windows driver installer file. Unzip and click to install. You can use one of the unzip files to explore if you want to check out the contents. Pulled this out of the temp folder on my machine.

gpsjunkie,

Cool. Very cool.

I don't know where you got the MSI to install the ADB drivers, but I've been looking for something like this for days.

Verizon, NEC, Casio, and my local salesman were useless wastes of oxygen in this regard.

One thing that was peculiar was when I went into USB debugging mode from Applications | Development, the CASIO CDROM USB Device driver never was found, it just sat there Searching... So far it hasn't been a problem.

I got nothing before. Now I get the expected serial number when I run ADB DEVICES.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. MUCHOS GRACIAS AMIGO/AMIGA.

Thanks again as this also fixed my tethering issues. I'm wondering why the drivers were not included and no cd either. A verizon ploy to foil tethering perhaps?

I just bought my commando on Saturday and was pissed when it wouldn't connect using easytether. Now that I have the information from you, it works. Thank you for being smarter than me.

I downloaded the drivers, and superoneclick, I am wondering why It is not rooting.

In superone click it only says waiting to connect and never goes farther than that.

thanks for all the help

I've had my commando rooted for a couple of months. Last week Verizon sent out a nice little update that seems to have unrooted my phone. Superone does not seem to be working. Below is the information it gives. My phone is in charge only, sd card out, and in sync. anyone else recently loose their root? any ideas?

Hi, I don't know how to unzip the file, it opened in word pad but with symbols. I just want a driver to work! Clearly I am in way over my head but I am trying to learn, any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Download to your PC. Right click on zip folder, choose extract all. Alternatively, if you download VZW's Media Manager to your PC, there is an option during installation to download the Casio drivers.

Many thanx for the driver!

I installed and was able to install PDANET on my Casio Commando!

You're the best!

Use the drivers in this thread and super one click. SOC has the necessary adb commands included.

First off, thanks. Secondly, I made the rookie mistake of not being logged into the forum! It will not download unless you are logged in. doh!

Hope it will work for you. Talk about being a rookie. I lost my flashlight app by accident and can't find it. Where is that thing stored anyway?

NEED HELP!!!

My Commando has been rooted for a few months now using superone. But thats it!! I can't do anything else! When I click on rom manager v4.3.3.0 there is no rom for the commando.

(I was able to figure out pdanet though.) dont need or want it though

And when I click on my titanium backup app it says " root access failed."

Can one of you super geniuses please help me out. I would like to atleast get rid of the bloat.

I am not very good at this stuff at all.

Also, can anyone please explain to me why they havent developed a rom for the commando? It has been out much longer than alot of the phones they have roms for.

Is it security or demmand.

I have a feeling that if the commando could handle these roms it would be unbelievable!!!

An indestructible phone with super user privleges would be the balls!!!

I don't believe that rom manager supports this phone yet. All the bloatware needs to be backed up and removed with Titanium. There is a list in this forum that lists what can be removed. Just be sure to back up anything you intend on remover

Do you have a Superuser icon in the app tray?
If not, you are not rooted.

If you are truly rooted......
When you start Titanium Backup Pro, you should get a message that says "Asking for Superuser rights", quickly followed by a Superuser Request popup that asks if you want to grant Titanium Superuser rights. Click the "remember" checkbox and then click "Allow".

Titanium will now work properly.

Does anyone have the driver for the C771 for Mac OS X? ADB is of course able to see my other three Android connected devices but of course the Commando is not supported. It's one of the most frustrating devices ever made

(before anyone asks... it's in debug mode)

I am unable to just plug my phone into my computer via USB and charge my phone. I have never had this issues with any other phone. I get that I need to download the driver, but I do not understand why they would do this.
Also, if I download the driver - can I then plug my phone into other usb's and have it charge (such as work computer or in usb in the car) or do the drivers need to be installed wherever I may want to charge my phone?
I am very annoyed by this.
Other than that - I am liking my phone a lot.

I had to download to both my laptops separately, not sure there was another method or not, but it seemed easy enough. It would seem the phone should charge via usb tho without drivers. Really don't know for sure, but think it also weird we didn't get any cd with the phone that has this stuff on it. First phone ever I think that I got without the CD. I called Verizon and asked about it along with some other things right after I got the phone in May. After I got friendly chatting up the girl, I asked for the drivers and she let it slip that they didn't want people to tether illegally so no drivers were included. Take that how you like, but no matter just get the drivers on and your good.

Default Success with C771 Drivers!

Thank you so much for the drivers for my Commando. They were self installing and work perfectly. Outstanding! I just wonder why Casio and Verizon have their heads permanently affixed where "the sun don't shine", and make it so difficult for the rest of us. Oh well. Thanks again

Default It worked

Copied into my directory, extracted, and ran. Plugged in my Commando and the drivers loaded. First time I've seen my SD card without having to remove it from my phone. So much for Verizon "technical" support." Thanks, gpsjunkie.
