Default Looking for Data Capture App – AT&T Captivate

Hello All,

I’m a newbie to the smartphone – just finding out some of the capabilities of this device.

I have need for an app that allows me to dial a phone number, log into a “BBS” type service with userid and password. Then enter some selection criteria for the specific data I need. The service then prints to the screen a report of the data. I am currently using “hyperterminal” on my Windows PC for data capture of this text. I don't know what the Linux guys use for capture. I capture about 120kb on a daily basis.

It would be much more convienient if I could capture using my new phone. I’d prefer not to pay additional charges for this capability.

Could anyone point me in a direction to accomplish this?

All comments welcome.

Thanks,

Tazer98
