On the left is the Unity bar and on the right is Conky.
Conky is extremely customizable and flexible, intimidatingly so. There is a thread
here with several configuration scripts people have put together, the one I am using is in there somewhere.

Thanks, I did find out about Conky yesterday but the off-the-shelf look made me unsure if it was the same. I'll check out that thread!

Conky is my drug. I've already posted this pic but check this screenshot out. It's actually about 14 individual config files that I initialize with a shell script on start up.

11.04 Alpha 3? You're not still running that are you?
A question about Conky (that's what you are displaying there right?). Can it be configured to show only specified reports? I'm normally not interested in monitoring processes on the deskltop, but would love to have the weather, time and calendar up all the time. I run a low power right so running multiple widgets is not a proper solution. conky configured this way would be great though. Any thoughts?
Below is my current Desktop (Linux Mint 11). I would love to have docky running on the right of the screen as decribed above.

No the alpha 3 is just coded in the script and I didn't remove it. It is 11.04 though.
Conky is very configurable. I don't know how to do what you want but surely if you know how to write scripts, it would be possible?

Windows 7 + rainmeter. It's subtle but there are notes and system settings to the right.
The Photoshop, Word, Notepad, CCleaner and uTorrent icons are clickable, thanks to rainmeter.

Back with a new wallpaper after the HD in my Mac died. Took it apart, put a 2TB drive in there and I'm back up and running.

After the rebuild, I could not find appropriately sized images that I had before.
So, I submit to you my new one - GT-R Cobra.

Here's my desktop, layout may appear a bit odd at first glance, but it's a triple display setup, and I keep the center display desktop completely empty as my primary workspace, and the taskbar runs down the left side of my right display.
The wallpaper is a portion of the Orion Nebula image taken by the Hubble telescope.

I thought I'd bump this: I love seeing new desktops.
Here's mine at the moment: it looks a lot like the previous one.
PS: How about I stick this thread to the top? There's only one sticky right now. I'm up for suggestions.

I finally found the original images I had before - I'm addicted to these GT-R images, these two in particular, even if they are the original-gen GT-Rs from '08....

Anyone know if I can configure rainmeter to show me display info in weird and crazy places (I was thinking using a slanted font on the windshield so that it would be like a reverse HUD, including taking into account the angle and curvature of the windshield to show one particular item, possible the weather)?
Also, does Rainmeter allow for multiple monitor configuration, so that some stuff shows on one and other stuff shows on the second? If so, I'm thinking I can make this desktop a real bad setup with the info that I want showing....
