Default Computer Homegroup

My brother just gave me his laptop and I can not for the life of me figure out how to change the homegroup.

It is D*money(stupid i know)
so when i download stuff and it asks for my name
it automatically has his Homegroup name come up(i can change it manually) but how do i change it in the computer itself instead of having to do so in EVERY application i download?

Thanks so much guys

I'm not sure what the homegroup has to do with what you're talking about...

The homegroup is sort of a psuedo win7 networking scheme which is pretty much useless.

Start > right click Computer > select Properties > new window opens up and near the bottom it says Computer name, domain and workgroup settings > click Change Settings.
