Default Need some basic help please

Hello everyone, I am a new member of the Android forums and would like some basic information. I currently use Microsoft Office 2010 Outlook for all my email communication with a Road Runner email account, I want to convert totally to Gmail. I have a gmail account and gmail address and want to do all future communication with Gmail and do away with Roadrunner. How do you easily contact all your RR email contacts and advise them of the email address change? I have been told this is very simple and I think it may be easy but need some guidance. I do understand that I have imported all my Rr accounts now to my Gmail account so all my contacts are on my android so this may be simple, sure hope so. I am very new at this and honestly do not know how to communicate easily yet so please bear with me. You can contact me at jsdone@triad.rr withadotcom or jsdstafford over at Gmail for helping me with my issue. Thank you in advance for your help.

The fastest way would be to send a blanket email to all your contacts with your new email address. By this, first go into your RR account and email everyone from the RR account that you are changing your email address to GMail. Then, go into your GMail account and send a second email verifying what you sent in the first email to the same people. If you want to make it easier, in the first email, also include your GMail address as one of the recipients (meaning add it to the TO: field so that it gets the same email that you send to everyone else) and then in GMail you can simply reply to all for the confirmation that you really are changing your email address.

However, you can also simply just use GMail to access your RoadRunner account and have it come directly into GMail, so that GMail will handle everything anyway, and you can set up whether the replies to those email from the RR account are sent through GMail or through RR. This is easily set up, and it is how I access my HoTMaiL via GMail.

Another thing to look at would be to keep using Outlook, even for GMail, since GMail supports IMAP, meaning that your Outlook on your PC would function much the same way as GMail on your Android phone. I personally use Thunderbird instead of Outlook, but Gmail has all the setup instructions for both in the settings section.

LMK if you want detailed help on the second and / or third options, or if you need more clarification for the first method.

Good work Johngalt, also you can have an 'out of office' email for anyone that emails you on the RR address explaining you have now moved email address.

The 2nd option that Johngalt has got is what I use, have everything connected to your Gmail, so everything diverts there, just create the folders in your Gmail so that you know where the emails are coming from. I hvae this for all 4 of my emails plus my Gmail account.

The OP could always just add a forwarder to their RR account so that anything sent there automatically goes straight to the gmail account. That way the messages should be pushed immediately to the gmail account rather than being polled maybe hourly.

Road Runner Help | Road Runner Web Mail - Security

This link shows how to configure a filter to forward messages (just specify an all-encompassing matcher) in case RR doesn't have a specific forward-everything function.

Then again... the OP hasn't replied here since the original Dec 12th post, so I guess they're not tuning in.

First thing I would do is edit your post to remove your email address as many spammers troll these posts for email addresses. Next I would take everyone else's advice.....
