Default High resolution laptop?

Hi, I'm looking for options for a new laptop. Currently I have this MEDION 98300.

Looking at the pictures it looks horrible on the web but it doesn't actually feel that bad when I'm using it. Google have beat Apple's iPad with the Nexus 10 with resolutioness (No doubt). I'm just looking for a laptop which is better or on par with Apple's Macbook, I don't want to spend the 1,000 or so for it. I watch a lot of YouTube videos and films on my laptop so I would just prefer a good screen and a decent enough graphics card to run the 1080p video streams.

NB: Chromebooks all seem pretty low end at the moment.

Vincent what you wanna do mate is try and find a laptop with a great v card in it. That will give you what you are trying to accomplish. The problem here is usually the laptop with good vcards in them are pricey for that reason. If it was a desktop would be so much cheaper. So your gonna have to shop around if you don't wanna blow a grand on a laptop but for what you want you might not have a choice sorry mate. Only thing I can think of is if you got a desktop upgrade that vcard for cheap but I imagine you want the laptop for mobility?

Yeah I want a laptop for mobilitiy, I don't think its the graphics card because 720p handles fine on this 4 year old graphics card. Can't really see the new/current graphics ard struggling at 1080p. I think I need a better screen because there's no point watching 1080p videos if the screen isn't a 1080p resolution anyway.

I've seen the Samsung Series 9 laptops but they're quite expensive too lol

What screen size you looking for?

Your best bet would be looking for clearance or refurbished.

Umm the minimum screen size preferable would be 15" and more as I'll be mainly use it for video/film watching. And a bit of games.

I'm not too fond of the HP brand however, much prefer Samsung due to my positive experiences with them.
