Default 560Ti vs 7850

My cousin is looking for a new gpu, and we're stuck : I have no idea what's better to get, a used 560Ti (between 100-30) or a 7850.

Also note that I might eb able to find a 570 off ebay in that same price bracket.

THe 7850 is 140 for a XFX with 2GB vram, and also comes with a 2 year RTB warranty for scan, and also 2 games.

As I right this, I'm beginning to think the 7850 offers a lot more in value for money. Am I right? :P

Radeon Vs Nvidia right? haha I always go Nvidia lol

I can't speak for the 7850, but I have a 560Ti And have no complaints. It runs super cool and quiet. When gaming it is at 60c which I was very impressed with because it has a cooling unit on it that looked sub-par.

Looking around, it seems that the 7850 was slightly better on release, and new drivers shouldve increased the difference....

Why the 560Ti rather than a 660 (non TI)? Just curious.

A 660 is nearly 200...some are a bit more.

A used 560Ti is around 100. There hasn't been many 660's floating about on eBay.

Edit: sorry, i was thinking of the 660Ti. There still isn't many of them, and they're still quite expensive for the budget.

Well worth stretching to though, if gaming is a priority. I'm well impressed with mine; it handles ME3 MP, Borderlands 2 etc flawlessly while barely raising a sweat. Mind you, I've also got a GTX 470 doing PhysX duty which doesn't hurt.

The AA on Nvidia cards still beats ATI too, imho. I'd forgotten just how good the old Falcon 4.0:AF graphics could look until I took a flight with the 660Ti. Almost makes me want to take it up again.....

Well, my cousin (whose PC this is for) isn't really a "PC gamer", but I have a hunch he'll very much enjoy it, so I just want him to have a good experience. He said that he doesn't want to spend more than the 160 a 7870 costs - when before we were considering a 100 used 560Ti. I don't think he'll want to spend even more for a 660... let alone a 660Ti.
