Root with Stock ZVA gives best battery life. Use Root Explorer to delete all of the useless MetroPCS junkware. I've tried BOC and BP, found that BP slaughters any battery you feed it, and takes 8x longer to recharge. BOC is a great ROM, easy on the battery but I feel that the menus are very hard to read in daylight and PICO TTS has some issues. Otherwise great ROM.
I won't touch #2 ROM since it looks as there a few issues with it. The only ROM I will flash next would be something other than Gingerbread Looks like Kanaida may help us with ICS....
Rom #2 has been excellent since v1.3. Absolutely no problems, working Bluetooth and TTS, and I've experienced battery life of up to 32 hours with manual 4G/Bluetooth/GPS, WIFI Always-On.
On ROM #2 v1.5 I am typically down to around 20% by the time I go to sleep.
I cant seem to find a link to stock rooted zva working on any of the posts. Im on my phone maybe thats why. Can some try posting a link here so i can try it out please. And thanks for the input

Wow i have experienced quite the opposite. I cannot pair my phone due to some issue in the settings.apk file stated by ldrifta. But no file or fix has been reported. And my battery rarely lasts past 12 hours.
Here is a tip that I can confirm for sure. If you purchase a LG Lucid OEM battery for your Connect you WILL get longer battery life. I bought one on amazon a few weeks ago and have been very happy with it. Technically, the LG Lucid battery isn't supposed to be compatible... But it works, unofficially speaking that is. I believe I have seen an extra 2-3hrs with this. Although I haven't done a thorough benchmark with it. I do know for sure, I do trust a LG Battery over say a Feipusi 1900mah fake battery. Those chinese extended batteries have been proven to lie about how much power they really have
There is a fat extended battery for the Lucid I think that should work as well, just good luck making a back cover that will fit it. I will probably buy that next, and buy a spare LG Connect back and macgyver extended back from it. Or maybe buy one of those crappy fat chinese batteries that lie about their mah, just for the back. lol

This should be posted in the "root" forums where it'd get more attention from the right people. But yea ZVA is the way to go for battery usage problems

I'm running rom #2 with a qcell 3850mah battery and I get 30+ hours of fairly heavy use (on and off the internet texting listening to music etc...). I get similar battery drain when playing 3d accelerated games like dead space although I havent yet had enough time to test gaming from full charge till discharge lol
I won't touch #2 ROM since it looks as there a few issues with it.
I'm using #2 (v1.4) after trying all different ROMs and it is definitively the best one battery wise.... i get between 8h to 10h in a normal day usage (4G and WiFi always on) while i was more between 5-8h with any other ROM...and everything works and NO reboot!

I've tried every ROM and I can't believe how much better battery life I have with #2. No comparison as far as I'm concerned. (on battery life, I still love BP too)
Hope everyone doesn't mind, I've moved this thread over to the All Thing Root Forum. Cheers, thanks!!
