I bought a Continuum last Friday and as I've looked for accessories and followed what is going on in this forum, there doesn't seem to be much going on for this phone.
The price recently dropped from $199 to $99 and that makes me wonder if this phone isn't such a good decision and I should look at the Fascinate instead.

Thoughts?
a lot depends on what you want out of your phone. if the ticker is what attacted you to the continuum in the first place, then certainly you ll be missing that on the fascinate.
if you are someone who was more interested in themes/roms/kernels than the fascinate does have a much larger community in that regard (although still small by dev standards).
now that punk kaos has joined up...its likely we ll have froyo working (albeit on an eclair kernel) in a relatively short amount of time
but its all personal preference really

There is actually quite a but of activity in our small community right now. While we don't have the sheer numbers of the Fascinate, we have a few dedicated devs working on the Continuum...
We are getting close to Clockwork Recovery and a port of Cyanogen Mod, and another dev is looking into the Ticker, so things are progressing, but we're still in the early stages here.

yeah its nice to see you guys get some dev love finally
just in general, the size of the fascinate community would mean more themes/roms/kernels/mods
we have our first sniff of 2.2 today...as punk kaos put out alpha cm6 (its mostly broken)
As soon as we get another dev or 2, and get CM working and stable, we should see a few custom ROMs. It's all just a matter of patience. I hate waiting, but it should be worth it

I would think any advances in aosp for the fascinate should help you guys...,because getting it working is a beast with the awful sanding coding and ril...,its taken the devs months to get to where we are now
Thanks for the replies. I previously had a Droid 1 and I loved that thing. I was changing ROMs about every two months and in total love with UD 8.0.
Since Motorola and stock android were my first experience with a droid phone, I think I got spoiled.
I've skimmed some of the posts in the Fascinate forum and the GPS issue and lack of updates really worries me. I feel like I've gone back into the dark ages with 2.1
The ticker was definitely the original draw but I've found that it doesn't really stay on, so again, unless I check the phone, I have no idea that I have texts or email waiting for me. Kinda negates the whole idea of a ticker IMHO. I've got my phone on the dock right now and the ticker is active which makes the whole screen look goofy. One going vertical and redundant information going horizontal.
I can appreciate how hard the devs must be working on this phone - I was just spoiled with the D1.
